Starting this winter, you'll be able to text 911 over RCS using the Google Messages app on Android!

Here's why that's a big deal: https://www.androidfaithful.com/google-messages-to-add-911-text-support/

Anyone attending GUADEC in Denver want to chat about metered data and resource scheduling? I might have inherited some stuff there and I think it would be amazing to sync up with what everyone’s working on.

Happy Pride Month, beautiful people 🤩

You can make someone's dream come true this month: join me in helping my dear friend Ravyn raise the funds they need for gender affirming care! https://gofund.me/382f7f3e :BlahajWavingTransFlag:

Boosts appreciated :boost_rainbow:

We've just crossed $2000 on the way to $17000 for Ravyn's gender affirming care 🚀

That's $1K from Maia Kobabe, author of Gender Queer, $500 from an anonymous donor, and a handful of tech industry friends with donations from $5 to $125. THANK YOU! :BlahajWavingTransFlag:

Can you help us get to $3000? Every dollar counts. Give the gift of gender euphoria this Pride Month! https://gofund.me/382f7f3e

Can't donate? Boosts are also massively helpful 💖 :boost_rainbow:

Hitler was sentenced to 5 years in prison. But he only served 9 months due to a sympathetic judiciary and massive public outcry from his political supporters. If that sounds uncomfortably familiar, it should.

This morning I booted an admittedly slow computer running Windows that I last booted in 2019. 13 hours later it is still downloading & applying OS updates, currently with "2018" in their titles (??)

It's not long until the 1st of June, so why not pick up the guitar and learn some catchy tunes for the summer? I've just published version 7.0 of Fretboard, which brings more accurate chord name prediction, note names on hover for the neck top toggles, and a couple of fixes for various small issues encountered since last release. It should be on Flathub very soon!

If you use Android and rely on hearing aids, I have some good news: Android 15 will significantly improve hearing aid support. Not only will LE Audio-enabled hearing aids be supported but the OS will also bring better management features.

More details can be found in this article: https://www.androidauthority.com/android-15-hearing-aids-3447169/

I have been keeping a journal on and off as part of managing my mental health following my auditory system damage last summer. Right now I start with the same prompt each time: write 5 things I am grateful for that day. It gets kind of repetitive which puts me off the whole exercise.

People who are better/more practiced at journalling than me: do you always use the same prompt each day or do you vary it? How do you get the prompts?
