@LikeItOrLumpIt I was just at a classic car show today with my son and they had a 1972 Honda 350 - super clean. Good stuff.

When you're trying to find out about something and all you find are "unboxing" videos.

MF I don't want to watch you open the packaging? WTF is wrong with you?

NeadReport,
@NeadReport@vivaldi.net avatar

@billyjoebowers Yeah, 'unboxing' is this cultish YouTuber thing. It's like a strip club for technophiles. It all started when someone bought the first Big Thing that no one could afford or hadn't been shipped yet. But now every Amazon reviewer works this into their bit because they really don't have much else to say about a shower head.

I have three Bluetooth speakers I got from a junk bin and they all have Bluetooth names like "CANZ", "Jam Classic", and "SBL 4.1 A1" and none of them have branding on them telling me which is which...

@rasterweb Adding CANZ to my band names list. Good luck Bluetoofin' because that technology sucks.

We could do this without "AI" being involved. Artificial intelligence is just a crutch and a prop to keep bright minds from fixing everyday problems. How much water and electrical power was consumed to justify a 30% decrease in intersection congestion?
It's not the stoplight people. The bottleneck is too many cars on the road. Fix THAT, AI.

Alright, lots of heavy discussions today, so let's talk about something silly!

What is a movie that always makes you laugh?

Personal pick:

Anything Mel Brooks, but Robin Hood: Men in Tights, it's just funny every time I watch it.

@benjamincox @RickiTarr Oh Yes! Kim Jung II as an evil marionette!

@RickiTarr We just watched "Dodgeball" with Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn (again). Highly recommend.
Just looking at Stiller's face at any given moment is too much. I believe there were some impromptu lines not in the script.

I rarely post anything, and when I visit it's nothing but ads, and video shorts, and people looking to sell their stuff. What a hot mess. Thanks for nothin' Meta.
I'll delete my account once I confirm everything is on MY drive.

On the festival the past weekend we had a few people in our group who asked things like: "do you BELIEVE in global warming?" "why would you ever trust the COVID vaccine?" and much more of these kind of questionable questions

I did not expect it from those certain people so that was a major bummer. One of them even works on a school so not a great example to have walking around

So I was battling with wannabe fascist the whole weekend, kinda super tiring

NeadReport,
@NeadReport@vivaldi.net avatar

@stux When people ask me if I believe in global warming I say, "Of course not! I'm a flat-earther!" and then laugh hysterically and walk away.

Once in awhile, I realize how lucky I am to live in Chicago. There is an art student in some part of the world who would love to see this sculpture in person, but for whatever reason, won’t be able to make the trip. But I could theoretically see it every day. There are blessings like this is your life, too, if you know where (and how) to look.

Looks like the newest trend in micro brews is "Hazy IPAs". They are all over the local grocery shelves.

  1. Not a fan of IPA's
  2. Taking up shelf space for Porters and Stouts.
