This is good. Green Hydrogen will be important in the future, but it's not going to be as important as many think. Especially when it comes to ground transport and heating. It will be useful in ammonia process and steel production.

I agree with the second half of that toot, but as I mentioned, for ground transport, it just doesn't make sense.
For passenger cars, it makes no sense because it's always going to be cheaper and easier to change a BEV. Only for longer distances, you could argue it's better, but that's been pretty much discounted now.

It's called round trip efficiency. You need electricity to make hydrogen to transport it and then convert it back into mechanical power in a Hydrogen Car. 70% of the energy is lost in this process. With a BEV, the average loss is about 15%.
Here is a paper for you. (It's grid not auto)

If that's propaganda, then please share with me some papers you have that show the round trip efficiency of hydrogen compared to batteries.
I can be persuaded by facts and data from a credible source.
But I'm 99% sure you are wrong.

"The lowest value of the maximum efficiency is found to be 79.3%, 75.7%, and 82.1% for hydrogen-oxygen, hydrogen-air and methane-air fuel cells, respectively."
This article doesn't support your argument. It also omits production and storage losses, so it doesn't provide the complete picture.

And again, you are omitting production and storage/transport losses.
You can't simply ignore the cost of producing the hydrogen and storage/transport.

It's a theoretical number. Not an actual number.
Then you are talking of theoretical numbers for electrolysis too. Not an actual number.
Then you are ignoring energy losses in Transport and Storage.
This paper below does support your claim and the theory too, but it doesn’t think it will happen before 2050.
In 2050 we will only be selling EVs. Charging will be everywhere. Charge times will be minutes not hours and 600km range normal. Nobody is going to invest in a separate Hydrogen infrastructure, when charging can be done at home, at work, at the shops or on the road.

OK, when #Threads federates with Activitypub how does it look like for the ordinary user? I know data scraping is a concern but do I suddenly get spammed by randos from Threads or will there be an uptick of trolls that I have to block?
Or will people migrate to Threads because it's just more popular?
