Only in Republican world can a man assault a reporter, get convicted, and go on to be governor yet a woman named Zooey Zephyr can be a threat to a roomful of men just by talking and end up thrown out of the legislature.

So tired of these people with mouths full of scripture but hearts full of hate.

The modern Republican party is devoted to three ideas:

1. That power is only legitimate if Republicans wield it

2. Power must be acquired by any means necessary

3. And the party is accountable to no one once it has it

It's a recipe for fascism.

Had the pleasure of speaking with students at the University of Guelph about science communication today.

Back in the olden days when I was in grad school (the first round), #scicomm wasn’t usually considered a viable career path. Many scientists blogged under pseudonyms so they wouldn’t be penalized before tenure.

20yrs later, I’m delighted as new generations of young scientists embrace the constantly changing media environment, including on #Mastodon.
