St Laurence's Church in Ludlow is home to a chilling apparition. indeed, it is said that a tall, elderly woman wearing a old fashioned dressing gown is seen running around the graveyard after dark. As she weaves between the graves, she is occasionally heard screaming.

I'm currently writing up my new research about Nanny Morgan after finding her burial records and other key facts regarding her death. She has become an important focus of my research for some time now.

This woman was so much more than the 'wicked witch of folklore'. She was remarkable, and I want nothing more than to piece together her story. I can't wait to share the revised blog post! ✨️

Yesterday, I went to see one of Shropshire’s hidden gems, the 'Bayeux Tapestry of England'. In All Saints Church, Claverley. Spanning more than 15 metres in length, these lovely paintings date from the 13th century. The knights seem to leap to life. I was in awe ✨️

My latest post discusses a subject very close to my heart- #ghosts! These are 'the forgotten ghosts of Shropshire' because I believe they are spirits who are often left out of the paranormal discourse. I hope you enjoy reading!

The Ghosts of Shropshire’s abbeys and religious buildings may seem like stock characters, but these stories are far more than that. They are a window into the attitudes and ideas of the past, providing us with an intimate understanding of Shropshire's History.

The Battle of Shrewsbury was fought on 21st July 1403, which resulted in the death of Harry Hotspur. The battle is important for many reasons. It was the first time that massed troops armed with the longbow fought against each other on English soil. They used tactical formations that would later become indispensable during wars with the French. The death toll was high, and Thomas Walsingham recorded how the king's men "fell like leaves in autumn, every one arrow struck a mortal man." #Shropshire

The life of Mad Jack Mytton is truly fascinating. He subverted expected norms. He was reckless, feckless, and definitely typified the 'mad, bad and dangerous to know' archetype. You can read about him below-
