🆕 blog! “I don't understand the sacrifices people make for work”
Just before I graduated from University, I went to a careers fair to help me decide what I wanted to do with my life. At one of the stalls was our local Police force1 - advertising the exciting new world of digital forensics2. Here is - almost verbatim - the conversation I had with the […]
It was one of the most infamous cases of karoshi (working to death) Japan has seen. Learn how the tragic loss of Takahashi Matsuri shook the country, and what changed - and what hasn't - since then.
Just so folks know where we are. 231.68 raised, $2343.32 remaining. Eri's #rent for $1,500 is due in ONE DAY and we've barely made a dent in this ask for rent and #bills. Eri is trying to uplift themselves from their situation by finding #work, which hasn't been going well for them. Let's make sure a #trans#disabled#Black person gets to do that this #PrideMonth. The rest of the #LGBTQ+ community wouldn't be where they are without #queer Black folks. @mutualaid#TransCrowdfund

If I work on private projects I do it often from the couch so I know it's doable in theory.
I always have the option to switch to my desk so I guess it's fine.
But the goal is to find a good workflow to only work on one screen from time to time to be more flexible with where I work. For example: I never worked in a café and would like to try this one day.
🆕 blog! “It isn't who you know - it's who knows you”
I'm terrible at networking. I forget people's names minutes after meeting them, I never have business cards and lose the ones I'm given, and I can't go five minutes without burbling some nonsense. But I recognise that networking is a skill and, like any skill, it takes practice to succeed. I've always been told that […]
