🌈➕ Exciting news! We've acquired the first specimen of the Sinclair ZX Spectrum+ (1984)! Functionally identical to its predecessor, it features a keyboard akin to the Sinclair QL. Improvements over the original include a reset button, legs, larger enter and space keys, and directional arrows! 🤯
In 1983, Atari Corporation unveiled the Atari 800XL, a home computer boasting enhanced graphics and memory capacities. I got the "mystery" #Amiga1200 expansion featured in my last video to work! Turns out it’s a 4MB RAM expansion (upgradeable to 8MB) and an optional coprocessor. Very handy for a minimal WHDLoad setup or the likes. Thanks to the fast RAM, the gained speed is quite significant considering it‘s basically "just" a RAM expansion. #RetroComputing#VintageComputing#Amiga#Commodore
Just taken receipt of a fantastic gift from my father-in-law: two bags filled with boxed Acorn Archimedes/A3000 games - including David Braben's Zarch!
🫳⌨️ Just 2 keys left to complete the keyboard of our Kopa 1000 (also known as VT100) 😁 Turns out, they really do fall out quite easily, and it's no wonder they're hard to find after more than 40 years. 👴
#vintagecomputing#retrocomputing#pdp10
Back in 1991, the sysops of the "STaTus BBS" in New Zealand created a #GUI for their board.
The system was powered by "Instant Graphics and Sound," a plain-text vector graphics scripting language for the Atari ST similar to RIPscrip, but predating it by several years.
Here's a video showing an IGS demo they made to give an idea of their impressive "GEM Desktop" #BBS interface:
Upload a disk with your custom Lode Runner levels and share cross platform with others. Download a collection as a disk image (#AppleII & #C64 currently) to play levels on your vintage hardware!
There are bugs, the site is ugly (anyone want to volunteer for web design?), but the basic concept is in place!
