EVERY single USB-C cable should have the USB type and bandwidth printed on the cable.

Like this one (see pic).

I'd also vote for some sort of "raised dot" standard for visually impaired folks.

Anyone know where I can buy one of these USB dongles?

I have a device with a USB Micro socket. I want to plug in to a computer with a USB-C port.

I can find the cable version of this OTG adapter. But I'm struggling to find a small, solid component.

Any experts here?

I have 4 hard drives and I want to turn them into a poor man's RAID.

They are USB 3.0, so 5 Gbit/s.
I want to connect them to a Futro S720, which has 2 ports rated as USB 3.1 Gen 1, which is the same, also 5 Gbit/s.

So with 4 HDDs at 5 Gbit/s and only 2 ports, there is no way I could operate them at full speed, correct?

To get the best possible performance (not maximum) out of it, I would need 2 hubs with at least 10 Gbit/s, correct?

The possibility of -c coming to the new along with some IMO very questionable design decisions in the world have me considering for the first time in my life to get an iPhone for myself. 🤔

Then I remember that the is the only option on iOS and there’s absolutely no way I’m going to strap a rectangle to my wrist. 😅 I really wish there was a circular one…

Where are you hiding, are you even alive?
I know you're hiding somewhere,

Did you go through the wash in a pocket?

Piping /dev/urandom into the USB HID keyboard stream[1] of a Windows 11 host logon screen makes for some funny videos.

Semi-related, you can do silly things with the "Microsoft OS Descriptor" USB parameters (properties get mapped to registry keys/values), but it looks generally safe, since not much happens automatically with those properties, especially outside of the Explorer view for Mass Storage/MTP/PTP devices.

I brought donated wireless keyboards and a mouse to #Staples for ewaste. Sad. Employees loose the little wireless #usb thingies that communicate with keyboards. Without these, the keyboards don’t connect. I tried to figure out a solution but it doesn’t exist. Every keyboard (obviously) has its own key. So perfectly fine keyboards went to waste. Also, figuring out which waste goes where is a chore in #ottawa. Staples doesn’t take all ewaste. Cartridges yes, thermostats no #recyclingheadaches

OK, what useful and passive gadgets do you know of?

For (boring) reasons, I need a solid-unit socket doubler like the one pictured. All the ones I can find also have integrated USB ports.

This is going to live behind a cupboard with pretty restricted access.

What can I plug in to make use of two USB sockets?

Suggestions gratefully received.
