Somebody posted a report they had put together for the work on the #TwitterMigration -- I was reading it earlier, but cannot find it now. Can someone point me to the post please?

So, I was looking at #Birdsite a few minutes ago, just to see if there was any info on the un-bans. And what I saw was shocking - Elon actually posted an alt-right Pepe meme.
He's crossed the line from blowing a dog whistle to just screaming to the alt-right.
Following people here isn't the same as on other social media platforms. It's not the hype "the more followers, the higher the popularity". Nope, mastodon is different.
Following, over here, and "liking", too, is about to be serious interested, to show serious affection, and to take care.
That's what I've learned in a few days.
And I love it.
Maybe there are exceptions, but I haven't found any.
So, the thought that #Twitter was going to be tested by the World Cup hasn't been as much of an issue as was originally thought. However, I wonder how Twitter deals with #blackfriday and #cybermonday? I wonder if there is any stats on how much traffic there is on these days.
Caraballo said Apple and Google should seriously consider "booting Twitter off the app store."
I wonder if this will gain any traction with some of the anti-hate/racism/etc. organizations. It would be interesting if there were campaigns started to pressure Apple and Google to do just this. That might really bring about the death of #Twitter in a way I hadn't thought of.
Tiny Twitter Deletion Tip :dumpster_fire: :birdsite: :
If you want to be thorough in your tweet deletion operation,
I highly recommend requesting your archive again once you are done deleting 🔄
Twitter’s API works in mysterious ways and it’s possible some tweets were removed from your profile timeline but were not completely deleted.
If this is the case, you will still see them in your archive file and can still access them from there. Check your archive file for your deleted DMs too!
Using your archive, you can manually search and remove single tweets using Twitter’s interface, even if you don’t see those tweets or conversations on your Twitter page anymore, and even if your account is locked :nes_fire:
HOW TO ❓
Request your archive: On Twitter go to “Settings and privacy” > “Your account” > “Download an archive of your data”. Enter your password when prompted. Click “Send code”. Enter code sent to email when prompted. Click “Request data”. Wait to receive a notification that your archive is ready, this can take 24 hours or even a few days 🗄️
When you get your notification, download your archive file and unzip it on desktop 🗜
Log in your Twitter account in another browser tab :twitter:
Inside your archive folder, open the file “Your archive.html”
While on this page, browse and search for your old tweets, replies, and DM conversations. Use the “Search filters” to search by date or for something specific 🔍
When you find something you wish to delete, click on “View on Twitter” at the bottom of the tweet, and delete the tweet from there. The same can be done for DM conversations that were not fully deleted 🚮
NOTE: This will delete data from your profile but not necessarily from Twitter's backups. It is still absolutely worth doing in my opinion, and can offer great protection, to you and others, in the eventuality of an account takeover for example 🔒
While following a lot of people can populate your Home feed significantly, sometimes people (like me) end up boosting a lot and that can unexpectedly hinder your own experience.
So if you like someone's specific posts and don't want to follow their boosts, you can go to their profile under the [...] button, and select the "Hide boosts from account" button.
There is no algorithm on Mastodon. You have ownership and control over every filtering decision instead of some robot.
Reposted because I wanted to ensure that this has the "Friend Link" engaged to bypass my paywall. 💜 All the links are friend links! That way I get supported just with the reads, and I also get to give you my content free! Enjoy!
If your instance is blocking an instance with folks you'd like to still read, you can add any Mastodon account to your feed reader (I like NetNewsWire myself) by using the following formula:
Just migrated over from another instance and figured I'd do an #introduction.
I am a SWE whose background is heavily in the #FOSS space. In college and throughout, I helped bring up devices for #CyanogenMod/#LineageOS and eventually became the frameworks lead for the parent company.
Apart from that I really enjoy #biking, hanging with my wife and dog, making mobile games, apps, and playing with my soldering iron. I'm always looking for new projects!
This weekend I was part of a great discussion about platform migration in #fandom. What's happening now with #TwitterMigration (and all types of online communities!) has both some similarities and differences. But if you're interested in one example of these kinds of migrations (e.g. #usenet to #livejournal to #tumblr and #ao3 in #fanfiction communities) here's my video essay about this research! https://youtu.be/xzQO-vkX3q0
