Somehow in the past week or so I've fallen back in love with the aesthetics and vibe of the Star Wars prequels (especially "Attack of the Clones") as well as the Old Republic games. Nothing else quite looks like them. I want to live in that world...
It seems a person can get married there. It's expensive for a wedding venue, but since my dream wedding doesn't involve a crowd, that helps to keep costs down, so splurging on the venue might be more financially attainable than I'd expect.
@indubitablyodin well said. Belief in inevitable change to a future perfected state is just religious thinking under a different name. It's irrational and enervating.
In order to understand the transformation of societies from one stable state to another through a chaotic transition I would look to complexity theory and in particular the idea of fitness landscapes and the "phase change" transitions between local minima.
The implications of neofeudalist thought are very dark -
@indubitablyodin - feudalism itself turns out to be a flawed, kind of bullshit folk history concept anyway, but in its own terms, feudalism requires an external threat for the lords and their armies to protect the peasants from in exchange for fealty and work. In the neofeudalist model that threat is climate refugees. Without climate refugee "barbarian hordes" their model makes no sense. So they're actually incentivized towards climate driven social collapse. What a bunch of dicks.
I'm thinking of selling my late Mom's diamond. I don't have daughters. I won't have grandchildren. I don't even wear my own diamond. Not really into jewelry. It's in a safe deposit box.
Mom and I had a very complicated relationship. I'm not sure what to do with it.
There were so many things to think about, but they had to be curated.
Otherwise, she would use this precious time of silence to focus on things that didn't matter, items of "news" or current events to mentally grumble over, as opposed to deeply focusing and thinking upon those introspections within her heart, ones that were calling out to be heard.
@cjerrington believe me. The size of the console won't be comfortable enough for dual sticks anyway. It is a good system and probably has more potential, but anbernic firmware is not as good as Miyoo's, for the price I would go all the way to a Retroid instead, or just go for the MM+
But I haven't tried either of them, I do love the Miyoo so far
Always remember, we are all entitled to our own opinions and we all get to choose what we use as far as software, hardware or anything else in this world. Just because YOU don't like something doesn't mean everyone else should not like it as well.
If you continually try and shove your opinion down my throat and try to force me to change what I use, I will simply block you and move on.
It's not appropriate, nor is it wanted or needed. It's actually quite DISRESPECTFUL!
@cliffwade yeah it’s amazing to me how attached people get to stuff (me included). They’re all just tools and we should be happy for the many choices available!
@jasonekratz Exactly. And I appreciate others sharing their experiences or thoughts with things they use.
But when it gets to the point that you're shoving your opinion down my throat and basically telling me that I have to share the same opinion you share or else I'm wrong, stupid, ignorant or whatever else, then that's where the line has been crossed and you need to go somewhere else.
@joel From an "old(er) person", this is 100% normal.
This is your first career job, and it's a very different dynamic from working a part time or seasonal job. You're still learning the culture and the people who make up that culture.
I started in a new school last August and I felt the same things - not really sure how to connect with people or start to share a little about myself without feeling pushy. I've found they're just as interested in getting to know me as I am to know them.
