My daily morning tarot cards usually take on the lighter, more mundane meanings, so even when I get Death or The Tower, it's never that bad. The one I'm really afraid of in a daily pull is The Hanged Man, dude fucks with me every time. I wonder if this is the same for others?
I'm a #bisexual :v_bi: #ambiamorous :v_amam: boy who lives in Katowice, Poland - I also am a CompSci graduate who has been working in IT for the past 5 years 😊
My main obsessions are #goth and #vaporwave#music. I also enjoy #anime & video #games (as many people do :blobfox3c:) and I'm learning to play the #bass guitar. Among my other interests are #retro computing, #tarot, craft #beer, #archaeology, and #astronomy. I love chatting about all of my interests - do not hesitate to DM me if you wanna talk about any of them 💗
I also have 2 beautiful #cats :)
I love going on nerd rants about various micro-interests of mine, posting dumb memes, and also being very gay on main, you have been warned :blobcatevil: :Fire_Bisexual: I occasionally boost CW'd NSFW posts. 🔞
I've absolutely fallen in love with Fedi - I'm very happy that I found this lovely instance and was able to settle in here with all the wonderful people :blobCatComfySoff:
See you around 🥰
What’s your favourite #roadtrip song? I’d love some help making a #playlist to listen to while I work on my next #tarot card, the Ace of Wands. Since this card is about #adventure, #travel, excitement, & optimism, I’d love to hear your #song selections that celebrate journeying so I can make a playlist that will inspire me! Drop your song in the comments & share this post with those who might like to add a song as well. Thanks! #mixtape#journey#art#inspiration#music
#DailyTarot card is Two of Swords which implies a decision to be made. It is very correct. I have a decision in front of me. The card says nothing about what direction to choose. Only the heart and the mind together can make that decision happen. This is a reminder to trust myself as I think through which way to go. #tarot (1/?) #YarnTarot
It's always funny when a #Tarot card pops out while shuffling, then I put it back in and shuffle more only to end up pulling the same card. :misc_tarot:
I see why most people add these cards to their readings, this has happened to me a few times, and it feels it like I'm probably gonna end up interpreting them anyway.
But also, do you find that the way they pop out matters? Like, if they just stick out a bit, or accidentally flip over, or when they fully fly out of your hands onto the floor?
I've had a few people ask me about how I designed BATTLE of TAROT. So I figured I'd write up a little post about it. (a thread)
The Conception:
The idea to design BATTLE of TAROT was not intentional. It came to me in a dream.
As an artist, I was drawn to the tarot as I had seen a lot of my fellow artists illustrating their own decks. I was looking for a personal project to work on near the end of 2022 and so...
I hope everyone is doing well today. I got a new deck today I had on preorder-- been waiting over a year for it to come out and I'm so excited to start using it!
Hello! As the bird app has become an absolute dumpster fire, I've decided to try out Mastodon. I'm hoping I'll like it, but I'm still trying to find my way around so I thought I'd try an #introduction. I'm an Artist and Illustrator in the Niagara Region (Ontario, Canada). I work in coloured pencil, watercolour, ink, and acrylic. I'm currently working on illustrations for my own tarot deck! As well as my love for #art and #tarot, I'm also a lifelong #geek, a #book worm, a #horror fan, a lover of #myth & #magic, a #quote collector, a #cat enthusiast, and a list maker. I would love to connect with other creatives and people with similar interests so please say hi if any or all of these apply to you!
Today’s #YarnTarot card is Seven of Wands. My impression was one wand picked out of many with the sun centered on it. The interpretation I am preferring today is conquering challenges through determination and hard work as the advocate for my group (at work). I am currently responsible for a strategy paper and I have delayed a few days to use today and tomorrow to focus on it. Here goes! #tarot#DailyTarot
It's interesting, I grabbed this deck for the novelty & I don't normally like oracle decks. They just never vibe with me. I'd hoped this would be different, but I think not? Idk.
None of those words are what I feel like I am. Maybe they are meant to be aspirational. I have thought a lot about how life has made me very serious.
#Tarot deck names that no one seems to have used yet despite there being several candidates already on the market:
Tarot of Fifteenth Century Hat Research
The Tits And Bums Tarot
Tarot of 2000s Photoshop Collage
The Phallusy Tarot
Tarot of Unappealing Children
Tarot Of I Am Distracted By Wondering Why You Renamed The Suit Of Swords 'Fred'
Tarot of Far Too Many Correspondences And Now You Have To Explain Why The Moon Is An Obscure Burmese Astrological Shrew Or Something
I had an IRL discussion last night which I thought I would throw open to everyone. Please feel free to jump in and comment. @x is especially welcome, as they're new to Mastodon.
At the time I recommended the Waite-Smith because you can find a lot of good introductory books for it, and because a lot of other decks are variants of Waite Smith.
An alternative may be to start with a themed deck based around something you really like. If you're really into Lord of the Rings, for example, or ancient Greek mythology or World of Warcraft, then your familiarity with its symbology can give you a basis for interpretations. Having to look every single card up early on can be a stumbling block for many people and this is a way to circumvent that.
Anyone have any other advice? The person asking was a man in his mid 40s, recently divorced, university educated, looking to explore new ideas and do the things he'd always wondered about, one of which was tarot.
The last day or so my mind has been really thinking about the ways that being disconnected from my family sucks extra around the holidays.
It's interesting then that this card talks about freeing yourself from toxic and negative relationships. I'm taking it not as a sign that I need to do that (I feel my relationships are awesome atm) but that I did the right thing.
I was fully expecting to do the collective reading with the same deck that I used last week, right up until about an hour ago.
A new deck arrived this week, and I thought it was one I would never read with publically. It came wrapped up like a gift, tied with a gold ribbon. Even knowing what it was, having, myself, ordered it, it felt like Christmas. Thank you to Arthur Wang and Mat Auryn for this extraordinary work of art, the Ephemere tarot and guidebook. 1/
In a move I assume he doesn't regret, the other night @jdekg let me do a reading to help him make a Linux-related decision. Anyway, he ended up installing (if that's the right word) something called Mint instead of something called Pop.
So there's a #Kickstarter project for a tarot deck based on The Classic of Mountains and Seas, which is an ancient Chinese text of mythical lands and creatures. The artwork is pretty stunning, and I LOVE this concept.
