#VirtualBox 7.0.18 is out now with more fixes to prevent UBSAN warnings and a fix for an issue with incorrectly displayed time stamps within mounted shared folder for #Linux Guest Additions, as well as a fix an issue that caused a host system crash when the VM used a bridged or host-only network adapter. Today I pondered something: Proxmox and others boast native ZFS integration as one of their strengths. Many Proxmox features rely on ZFS's unique capabilities, and many setups are built around them. If Oracle were to send a cease and desist tomorrow, how would the situation unfold?
The Zelda games on the Game Boy and Colour are unique within the Zelda series as a whole. Strange plots, enemies, music, mystery and even gameplay plague the three games. Hell, in Link's Awakening half the enemies are straight up from Super Mario Bros. And the oracle games come with novels and feature interconnected password...
Excited to hear that macOS 14.4.1 has a possible fix for the Java reliability issue. Would be great to hear of an independent confirmation from #OpenJDK or #oracle folks. This issue likely tracks a JDK-side mitigation though? Or will it close after verification of the Apple OS-side fix? https://bugs.java.com/bugdatabase/view_bug?bug_id=8327860
…we bought an old shelf from the occult shop. Formerly used to display #tarot and #oracle decks for sale, currently taking up a corner of our dining room. Gotta get the guest room and computer room in shape—it’ll fit into one of those once we do. But for now, a fine conversation piece for a high-traffic area in our home. 🪄☕️🗡️🪙
While everyone is up in arms over the prospective #TikTok#Ban, no one seems to be paying attention to #BobbyKotick's open desire to buy a controlling stake off Chinese owners, #bytedance
Yes, THAT Bobby Kotick. See below for a quick reminder. Strangely, this never comes up in conversation.
A cynical sod might even wonder if the TikTok furore is just the US government nobbling a competitor to its native social media dumpster fires.
...And now #Trump's former minion, #SteveMnuchin says he wants to buy #TikTok. This is increasingly reading like a stitch-up masquerading as a moral panic.
"...When Mnuchin was Treasury secretary, the Trump administration brokered a deal in 2020 that would have had U.S. corporations #Oracle and #Walmart take a large stake in TikTok on national security grounds..."
Everybody knows how IBM made the machines the original nazis used in their genocide of the Jews, but we never talk about how IBM, Microsoft, Oracle and others today makes the technology China uses in their genocide of the Uighur. Why not?
Anyone know any other games similar to the Oracle ones? Already have a few (Anodyne, Lenna's Inception), looking for more.
