She is hanging on by a thread as she contemplates the worst thing that a parent could imagine. Mick, the local constable goes on the hunt for the children, fearful of what he may find out.

So I am a week into my #Zizek#Lacan#Hegel studies, through Zizek's lens. All good. I think Zizek's #philosophy of looking at Hegel through the Lacanian lens is seductive. That said, where I find the lens of Zizek lacking, and I now wish he'd not talk about these 2(3) things any more are:
I was a serious #catholic half my life, seminarian for minute, and an ordained deacon, still, even after I confessed my #atheism. So I get what he is saying. My atheism has never felt the same as #Dawkins or #Hitchens, whom we adore, and Zizek sneers. Slipping through the profound safety net religion and a transcendent, all powerful, personal god into the #existentialism of nothing was terrifying, it was my first experience of the "#real." This is it. This is all there is. The problem is it appears Zizek commits the #fallacy of #reification (if we understand it correctly). Clearly he knows it is #fiction, even if profound from a #psychoanalytic Hegelian #CriticalAnalysis, we get it we really do, but it is not real. The #event is real, and the fiction caused the event, but the fiction is still fiction. There is no God, IOP, that became an atheist. The #story Zizek emphasizes is powerful, the changing of the cosmos when #Jesus on the cross questions Gods love. Good story and that is all. Kind of strange feeling to reconnect with an ex after years... Specially the one I almost killed...
No, it wasn't like that, was an "accident" (lack of knowledge)... Let me elaborate.
We used to take the same bus in the mornings, started talking, became bus buddies and eventually she invited me to her place, she was hosting brunch with some of her friends. Things continue to grow and after about 2 months, we went on an "official" date.
We evolved to a some sort of dating status, we just didn't want to label it. Anyhow, things were going well and all, one night she said she wanted to go for dinner to this new restaurant, I said ok, I will pick you up around 7p. I went home after work, got ready and headed to her place... We are at the freaking restaurant, and she started to feel like her chest was heavy, could not even swallow food correctly etc... Just minutes after, I noticed her face was red as a mother fucker! her lips bigger than some of IG models now days, she said, take me to the hospital, I can't breathe!
In a hurry we are finding our way out, the manager is trying to stop me since I hadn't pay, I take my wallet out and just dropped a card and said, I will be back for that. While driving to the hospital, shit turned dark, she said, I think I am dying while barely able to speak! She fainted 7 minutes before arriving to the hospital... Immediately they come out to help and I explained the situation, they asked all kind of questions which I couldn't really answer cause we were having more fun than really getting to know every detail about each other.
They take her in, and about 40 minutes later they called me in.
Doctor asked us about allergies, she answers about her allergies, pineapple and cloves (the baking aromatic spice.)
When I heard that, my balls dropped to the floor!
See, I have this habit of chewing cloves from time to time... That night I had been chewing cloves and well, kissing her... My reaction was "oh my fucking God" "I am sooo sorry!" I explained to the doc and her my habit. With the little strength she had, she went crazy on me! Doctor asked me to get out of the room while she calms down, I did that, but she refused to see me again.
Two weeks passed and she reached out, we kept "dating" for almost a year after that.. (Crazy right?), eventually things came to an end after she was offered a job overseas, and I decided not to move there. Time went by and we lost connection.
About a week ago, we reconnected since we still have a few friends in common and after attending a small event. We laughed quite a lot last wednesday telling the story of how I almost "killed" the ex. 🙃
Our six-year-old handed us a note. His teacher had called my wife and I in for an emergency meeting. We asked our son if he had any idea why, and he said, "She didn't like a drawing I did."
We went in the next day.
His teacher pulled the drawing below out and said, "I asked him to draw his family and he drew this. Would you mind explaining?"
"Not at all." my wife said. "Family vacation. Snorkeling off the Bahamas.

She tried to explain Information Theory to me in simple terms. "Information is that which reduces uncertainty.", she said, adjusting her glasses self consciously. I felt some uncertainty reducing.
She gave me a book by Claude Shannon. The next week, she asked me how I liked it. "It was challenging. I'm trying to make sense of the mathematical notation. Some cool ideas in there."
She smiled and handed me another copy of the same book. "WTF?! I've already read it. I'm reading it again. This conveys no information!"
"Don't judge a book by its cover.", she said, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
I skimmed the new copy. She had scribbled notes in the margins in her womanly handwriting, breaking down key concepts that she had underlined throughout.
"Thank you!", I stammered, meaning it heartily. I wasn't exactly a Cliff's Notes kind of learner, but this was challenging material, and I was grateful for the help. And there was something else. I was attracted to her so much, her mind, her body. I pushed that feeling aside, and smiled politely. I had to think and process information like the good Android I was.
I went over the new copy, over and over. She texted, and asked to meet for coffee. When we met, she handed me a third copy of the same book. I guffawed! She giggled a little, and averted her eyes. What was her new game? I was intrigued. Thumbing through the pages, I found no new writing. It was blank. Well, same as the first copy, but older. There was no information. I was puzzled, till a subtle scent tickled me. An old book smell, mixed with a lovely aroma. It was own perfume. I looked up and she was smiling at me. We made eye contact through two pairs of glasses. A new dimension had just opened in my world. It would take a lot cycles to process the flood of new information flooding my senses. I was melting.

Curious about the local culture, I went to see a #play. We entered an amphitheatre of sorts, although the audience sat or stood in the centre, with a few different sets on the slopes around us.
The first scene was in a set on my left; the hero was leaving their home. The second scene introduced the antagonist, in a set straight ahead of me. The coming tension was clear. Good start!
But then two scenes, and later three or more, happened at once in different directions. I didn't know which one to watch or how to follow the plot. I turned this way and that trying to take it all in, but was frustrated.
After the show I spoke to some locals. "How do you follow the #story? I couldn't keep up!"
They looked puzzled. Eventually I saw realisation on someone's face. "Ah, you've only seen the play once. You have to go at least three times to understand the story."
There exists the timeline T0, which is all of history if nobody messed it up with time travel. T1 is created when the "first" time traveler messes with it. Now an other traveler makes T2, trying to "set things right" as close to T0 as possible.
Pretty standard, yeah? But what I can't think of is a story where the native residents of T1 (who don't exist in T0) want to defend their home timeline from the T2 invader from the future, who wants to effectively unmake them.
Usually the story has the extras helping T2 "fix" things back to how they were "originally" but for them, T1 is the original.
#Story Idea: Reformed cat burglar who lives in a suburb now and just wants to feel that rush every now and then, so plans elaborate pranks on their neighbors. First prank involves sneaking into a neighbor's house to reheat fish in their microwave, then just dumping it into their indoor trash.
