Here's a look at my process designing upgrades for Rootin' Tootin' Lootin' & Shootin'. I have one big image file where I sketch out new ideas and refine them.
Trying out two of the Sailor de Mannen fude nib, 45 degrees and 55 degrees. 55 degrees is very smooth, almost too smooth and I didn't like the Pelikan Moonstone. I enjoyed the 45 degrees nib, not too scratchy or thick. Noodler red black ink is nice too.
I sketch when I am learning by listening. Otherwise I zone out and do not retain anything. By engaging other parts of my brain (and hands), the bored part wakes up. LOL
I drew Hiroshige's "View from Massaki on the Grove near Suijin Shrine, the Uchigawa Inlet and Sekiya Village" (8-1857), on iPad mini again, using ArtRage. It took a couple days, 3 to 5 hours each.
