Error message on Apple TV connected to a Samsung TV: “Disney+ has detected an HDCP issue that is preventing your content from playing. To resolve the issue, please try a different HDMI cable and/or bypass your stereo equipment by connecting the device directly to your TV.” Fix: With TV on, hold down the power button on the Samsung remote until you see it go off and then see the Samsung logo - kind of like a hard reboot. Fixed for me every time. #AppleTV#Samsung#HDMI#HDCP
Adding the Xiaomi 14, Vivo V30 Pro, and the Galaxy S24 Ultra!
Full run down on synthetic benchmarks, video editing, podcast mixing, photo processing and file compression tests. Let's see how these phones REALLY compare using actual apps for work!
Some quick musings on the weird and wonderful gadgets being shown off at MWC 2024 -- and what they mean for the future of smartphones: #MWC#Samsung#Motorola#HMD#Smartphones
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of #Meta, is planning his first visit to #Korea in over a decade as early as next week, with potential discussions on artificial intelligence chips and generative AI issues if he meets with #Samsung Electronics Chair Lee Jae-yong.
The Samsung's new feature "Improve Quality" works really well for analog photo scans. I wish I had such a tool on my PC.
And yeah, it's me on the photo. 🙂
Well, I contacted #Asus support about my #Zenfone. I bought the Zenfone 9 in March of last year, when it was the latest model available. Support confirmed that both #Androidand#security patches will case for it this year. I've owned this phone for less than a year and absolutely love it, but this is a complete fumble on Asus' part.
They also took down their unlock tool for it, so running an alternative Android is out of the question for now as well. Very disappointed.
@raptor85 The #Android space is quickly becoming a duopoly between #Samsung and #Google#Pixel and the hardware is #Asus alone makes it stand out in a good way. It's unfortunate that the sudden rise in #Zenfone popularity is likely to very quickly die off because of Asus' dismal SLA.
Time for a seriously deep dive review, as I look into how well the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra compares to its premium rivals, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pixel 8 Pro. Is Samsung's flagship really the modern AI marvel it makes itself out to be? (Text and video review, both lengthy)
Damn it to hell! I just had to remotely wipe my #Samsung phone because of its ridiculous requirement that my phone's password include a letter instead of the 12 character combo of punctuation and numbers that I've been using for years on all my phones including other Android phones. I added a letter to this silly password and then forgot a few days later. I'm glad that it's not my daily driveror I'd be even more pissed than I am. All I have to do is set up this damn thing again.
So help me I did a react video... https://somegadgetguy.com/b/3yP
I'm a huge fan of the PetaPixel podcast, but I feel a lot of photography enthusiasts have a HUGE blindspot when it comes to mobile cameras. Following the release of the Galaxy S24, I had a lot of thoughts on THEIR thoughts about Samsung's new phone...
We just bought one of those #Samsung washing machines where the motor that spins the drum has absolutely no sound. Spinning does, but it's massively quieter than the old machine we had. I've never heard anything quite like it.
So, best I can tell, swapping SIMs (Dish to AT&T) and rebooting with my #Samsung#S24 connected to my laptop (no adb connection or anything) corrupted things badly enough to "unauthorized factory reset" the device.
Fortunately I had a full cloud backup from Monday morning (right before resetting/boxing up my S23), an incremental Google backup from Tuesday morning, and a lot of stuff synced to the cloud, so all I lost was on-device Signal messages, a little bit of WhatsApp, and some time. 1/2
