i've been in a constant state of longing for the way the internet used to feel so i decided to create a very minimal music forum, similar to the phpbb forums we all used to visit.
no algorithms, no ads, minimal feature sets, minimal js, etc. i just missed scoping out music on my schedule and seeing what others are enjoying.

Looks like I am having a day of inspecting musical sacred cows that I have previously bounced off. Got about halfway through #HuskerDu Zen Arcade and while it was fine, I wasn't loving it (fwiw I love Copper Blue by Sugar). Another great find today. Tough to describe Jadewick other than it's killer post-rock or post-hardcore, kinda maybe like Fugazi or something. I'm not even a Fugazi fan. This is kinda what I WISH Fugazi sounded like. 😂 It's melodic, but heavy in spots.. Jadewick are from Memphis, this came out in May, and this is a WILD listen.
So, there is no album yet and no EP in 2023 but three single releases by our @ascendency and it does fit into @DXMacGuffin choice for a special category of the #AlbumOddTheYear2023 (from @derthomas and @Kitty). It’s the one "left me wanting more". I’m hoping there will be an album on the horizon for this band in 2024.
I have, indeed, listened to plenty of female lead metal bands this year, and I feel naming just one is leaving so many more behind. But if I have to pick one, that's for sure:
