@historyofpunkrock I was in the DC area with Fugazi and I recall their causes not the music. Their albums felt like “Waiting Room” and their local shows were much the same, complete with MacKaye lectures to the crowd.

In the end, Red Medicine was their best—from standard Fugazi fare like “Long Distance Runner” to the noise catharsis in “By You.” They were interesting at the end of it all.

In my story collection The Feverish Stars there's a story called The Waiting Room, about an aging punk rocker, and it quotes the lyrics of that song
