For a few weeks now, I've been using VidHub as a video player on my iPad and MacBook.
I was actually looking for an alternative to Infuse; I thought its yearly subscription was unnecessarily expensive. While browsing, I came across this app:
Oh, today is my 8th anniversary of working on Mastodon. I was 23 when I started, finishing my last year of university, still living at my parent's place. I had no idea what I was getting myself into or that it would consume the next 8 years of my life almost completely.
TIL Jellyfin music player app Finamp is on a beta channel working on a big UI and UX overhaul.
The app is finally going to be a decent music player with better presentation, better navigation and useful context menus. I dig alot! 🥳

Es gibt auf @fdroidorg u.a. zusätzlich auch den #MPV-Player, auf dem kann mensch auch #Videos vom https://archive.org abspielen. Dazu müsst ihr nur dessen Video direkt #URL kopieren und im Player angucken. Es ist ein min. #Player den ich deswegen zusätzlich nutze und mir gefällt.
If you keep your music locally, then I'm sure you can make use of Tagger! Edit the tags and properties of different tracks, import and export album art, or lookup this data using MusicBrainz. It supports many different file types, editing multiple files at once and accessing various subfolders. Keep your library clean with Tagger!
@gnomeapps@nlogozzo I love it! 😍 Although I am not using it all too often since #quodlibet (my #music library #player and #manager of choice) comes with a very powerful internal tagging solution. Unfortunately it is nowhere near as beautiful though. ☺️
@technotramp could I share a little of your Unexpected Tracks as the music for my show this week? (I talk about lisps and smolnet community news, while sharing awesome underground music of people I meet). Is there a big ipfs music scene? You are the first one I encountered.
I'm enjoying Honeycomb -> Funky Cat right now. I once had some bubble gum from Japan that had the words "highly technical flavor" printed on the packaging which this puts me in mind of somehow
As far as the #IPFS community is concerned, I feel the same as you. I'll probably really be #one of the #first. #RPlayer is available for #free, but the #problem is that it's hard for a non-technical #person to make their own #player. You need to program some #tools, but I'll do it.
