I spent the better part of yesterday, and all day today trying to finish the first issue I have of N-Force, and it's finally ready!
I never had an issue of this before, but it's such a fun magazine, and I love the specially created artwork for each review, even though I'm not quite sure about the review setup at times.
N-Force 4 - October 1992 (UK) has just been added to the magazine catalogue.
...praised for its tight control, unique and non-linear gameplay and bright presentation, and is often regarded as one of the best titles for the NES. 🤩
Did you enjoy one of the Ducktales titles for NES or Game Boy? 😍
🕹️ #RetroTrivia about the game consoles of our childhood
Someone should make a new 16-bit console and put a big marketing push behind it. We keep seeing many new games being made today for our beloved 8-bit and 16-bit systems including #Amiga#NES#ZXSpectrum#GameBoy and other fan favorites, but the hardware is dying and it’s not easily obtainable, so games are being made out of pure passion and nothing more.
I wonder if such an idea has any chance of success… I would love a new 16-bit handheld in GameBoy format.
I feel like I did '10 games to know me' before on here but I can't find the post, and I've met so many more of you cool people since then. So here's 10, not even sure it's the same 10. Probably close. What are yours?
Wolfenstein 3D
Diablo (1 & 2)
Centipede
Black Widow
Wizodd
Plaque Attack
Felix the Cat
Rogue
Gun Nac
Duke Nukem (1 & 2)
It's taken 6 months, but my latest labour of love is finally complete! You can now explore fully documented and annotated source code for Elite on the #NES, reconstructed by hand from a disassembly of the original ROM. Please enjoy!
The majority of my output as of late has been very SNES heavy.
So apologies about the lack of variety.
I will do my best to switch things up a little, but the next couple of weeks and months will most likely keep being SNES heavy.
That being said, I'm proud to present you with the very first issue of N-Force today: so N-Force 1 - July 1992 (UK) has just been added to the preliminary magazine catalogue.
Another very special day and hopefully the first of many more.
Thanks to the incredibly generous donation from Adam from the UK, here is the very first issue of Total! for the site:
👾 Hey Retro Gamers, Happy Weekend! Today I pulled down a couple different NES games from my shelf. MicroMachines and Pac-Man. Both decent games, however it is almost impossible to get this MicroMachines cartage to play. I cleaned it with alcohol, no luck. Any other ideas?
Been looking at this volume to drop in price a little for what feels like 2 years now.
First time I've seen this for €36, but there's only one copy in stock after I ordered mine.
But they might still take orders for when they get new stock, although I'm not sure.
The NES Omnibus: The Nintendo Entertainment System and Its Games, Volume 2 (M–Z) at Amazon Holland
Konami just put out a HD collection for one of my favorite games ever, Felix the Cat, for Switch and PlayStation (it's among several for a blog post I almost have done on video games I'm obsessed with).
The new collection includes both the NES and Game Boy versions & allows for saving and rewinding at any time (maybe I'll finally beat it! 🤣)
This'll eventually be a must-grab for me, but I gotta wait for a sale on this one.
After a thorough contact cleaning (Thanks @gourd !) my old NES is no longer giving the ol’ red flashes, but now it’s only displaying a black screen, and that’s on two different CRTs. Any chance I just need a new RF switch and not some kind of extensive repairs? #RetroGaming#nes
