Last year my friend and I bought some on the Eurostar to get us from Gare du Nord to the Gard de Lyon and it was super easy for a one-off trip. I’m repeating the journey (so not one-off after all 😂) in a couple of weeks but heard these tickets were being phased out. In which case I need to check out the newfangled alternative. Thank you 🙏.

Sans conteste, pour moi la plus belle station de Paris. Adressons d'abord l'éléphant dans la pièce : les quais de la 11. Thème Jules Verne, bords cuivrés sous-marin, et engrenages au plafond !
Même en quittant ces quais, la station s'offre le luxe d'être géniale : une correspondance courte, et des couloirs qui conservent le thème de la 11 avec leur décoration couleur cuivrée.

I recently renewed my travel card for the first time since 2018 or so. And I happen to use that metro line a lot given the location I live in.
Metro fascinates me for many reasons. But what blows my mind in particular is that first plans of building it were discussed as early as 1950s. However, the first line was opened in 1995. The initial part of the second line was opened in March 2015. Nearly 10 years passed since then, holy moly.
Also, I still love the sound Alstom trains make while leaving the station. Goosebumps all the way.
