So sad to read the lead singer of April Wine, Myles Goodwyn, has died. If you're not #Canadian you probably haven't heard of them and they didn't make the same mark as some other Canadian #music, but they had some truly great songs. So many rowdy summer nights with "the boys" featured April Wine playing in the background.
We tend to live in a world where we only live in the now -- but some of us realize the quality of our now is influenced by what was previously lost. In this Human Meme podcast episode, we endeavor to discover the cause and effect of happiness and satisfaction in living.
This is an interesting read, particularly analyzing 'The Haunting of Hill House' (Shirley Jackson's book not Mike Flanagan's adaptation, which is also great), making lots of interesting points. There's a lot to be said about horror as a genre, but also about fiction in general, and how it can allow someone to find comfort and inspiration, and also explore their own thoughts, feelings, and personal experiences through characters they find relatable and stories that resonate.
