One thing I'm a bit worried about with regards to #Lemmy is that a lot of the larger communities seem to be on .world.
Part of what makes Lemmy special is that it isn't a centralised space. Users and communities would be better off joining a smaller instance, building that one up. After all, you can still federate over with the larger ones to access those communities.
So, after a couple of days (weeks?) I decide to create a couple of #lemmy communities for #Dandadan and #SPYxFAMILY in #lemmyworld because there were none. Was thinking about creating one for #chainsawman but chickened out lol seems like a lot of work
So there is a lemmy version of r/touchfluffytail and I've been posting some pics from my collection there!
I Really wanna support that place with all my heart, if you use #lemmy and are into #anime girls with big #Soft Tails, then please check it out!
Here a direct link to one of my posts there, so you can directly check it out: https://lemmy.blahaj.zone/post/743245 ( Full handle is touchfluffytail@lemmy.world )
Please get comfortable on a Soft tail and enjoy the Fluffyness~
These error 500s are driving me nuts. In the past day I can no longer visit my own profile because of the #error500. I can see my notifications, but I’ve become completely unable to continue a lemmy.world thread for which I have replies & need to reply back to.
@jerry I appreciate the effort but I must say it’s doing nothing for the error 500 when I attempt to visit my profile. It’s been a continuous error 500 for the past 2 days.
I heard #LemmyWorld has been under a javascript injection attack. The thread I started there (from here) never gets past the spinny mahoochy:
I always have to force reload to view that page. I mention this because my profile page likely tries to access posts from that thread. So I wonder if the error 500 might be caused by timeouts on external services. Just a guess.
#lemmyworld is so much faster today than the point people started migrating from Reddit. The devs deserve high praise for getting the system performance fixed. https://lemmy.world/post/1061471
Apart from running it well and keeping up to date (recent update seems to have gone well, with a nice example of instances and admins helping each other!?), some redditers seek the big instances?? Curious how communities will adapt.
How many times do I have to say it: calckey.social isn't the only Calckey server out there! Just like how mastodon.social isn't the only Mastodon server.
And lemmy.world isn't the only #Lemmy instance! In fact, I kinda regret making an account on #LemmyWorld this week, because it won't show OpenGraph image previews for all aggregated links (which means no YouTube thumbnails, no gorgeous pic for article, nada). AFAIK, there is no migration thing, but I didn't post much anyway, so I'll try another server.
Dear #Lemmy, thank you for the reach that you give. This sweet recognition of meme culture, boosted with some basic federation capabilities - it's something that I want to recognize over #Kbin. It's not "Microblogs" tab, but the HOT front page of Lemmy communities.
In all fairness, Lemmy's doing good there, despite being limited in post federation and assimilation with #Fediverse. Not all people are here on Mastodon/Akkoma to list memes and other jazz, because of how generic the chronological feed may be on this end. In fact, I could make a separate account just for that, even though it would probably confuse my followers.
I didn't feel disappointed with its capabilities. I moved away from #LemmyWorld instance to #Geddit, maintained by Sir @stux. So far, so nice. Tip: cross-post a lot and find more communities via #LemmyVerse (a.k.a. Lemmy Explorer)!
If you are an #Apple enthusiast and are a #Reddit refuge trying out #Lemmy or #Kbin, I moderate quite a few Apple communities over on #LemmyWorld. Come join in on the convos!
Pls BOOST for maximum exposure to the #Fediverse 🙏🏼
Another informative thing about the Lemmy project if you haven't read or heard of it yet, about the Lemmy devs removing content critizising the chinese state because it's 'racist'.
I have no proof Lemmy World are bad but if they are actively blocking stuff that is good for #humanity then we should all be #vigilant and #aware of the issue.
