Good Morning #Canada
We're at the peak of road trip season so this installment of #BigStuffInSmallTowns should create a lot of buzz. Known as the “Honey Capital of Canada”, Falher Alberta has a 7 meter long honeybee hovering above the town. If you're really lucky you can have 30,000 of the live insects clinging to your face to create bee beard. A great photo opportunity and also some future fuel for nightmares.

#blackberry#mead, Day 2. Yeast is active. Smells pleasantly like... yeast. Made with #honey (not quite ripe) that we removed from an outside cabinet. Currently exposed to air, will probably air lock this today since the yeast has started up now.
Hmm, an entire bucket of unripe #honey from a hive removal today. I think that means we are brewing #mead. (otherwise, it ferments...) #homebrew#beekeeping
Can #beekeeping people here offer some advice or suggest some resources to get started? My late grandpa had several hives some years ago and I would like to give it a shot.

Amusing #beekeeper story. I am relocating a captured swarm from someone's backyard this week, and they asked if they could have honey from the swarm (and I had to explain that swarm won't have honey for another year or two... and that is if we are lucky/weather works out, etc.). Made me chuckle, lol. #beekeeping#honey
We changed out the queen's deep super this afternoon, added a new deep super, & put all on a new base board. (Old base board was disgusting.) I think we need a new lid, too! 😅 Geeze... At least they were pretty tame. We were sweatin'. 🥵 #saskatraz#bees#beekeeping#honey#beesofmastodon
Third #honey extracting session already this year a few days ago. The one day it was sunny! Not sure what they are foraging, but this is what color. #beekeeping
Excitement for the day. A #swarm of #bees manifested on the field outside my house in the afternoon sun. Called a local swarm collector and he came to take a look. There's 35000 bees in that clump and he's gonna help re-home them
update on the #bee swarm. the #swarm collector managed to collect the bees cleanly at 0500 this morning and said he'll drop by with a jar of #honey as thanks 😀 everyone's a winner!
