What a craven fucking coward. The effort is to shift responsibility so he won’t take hits from the right in an election year.
“The #Biden administration is planning to refer some migrants in Latin America for resettlement in #Greece and #Italy as part of another effort to discourage people in the region from traveling to the U.S.-Mexico border, two people familiar with the government's plans told CBS #News.” #immigration#bidenharris2024
Perched atop towering rock formations, the Meteora monasteries in Greece merge seamlessly with the dramatic landscape. The ancient structures with their orange-tiled roofs contrast starkly against the rugged cliffs under a brooding sky. Lush greenery at the base adds a touch of vitality to this awe-inspiring scene. Imagine this super sized on your wall space.

Voici le chemin byzantin, pavé de marbre et de rochers, sur l'île de Paros dans l'archipel des Cyclades en Grèce. Une belle promenade sur plus de 3 kilomètres que l'on peut prolonger dans l'île.

About a year and a half ago, I set myself the challenge of trying to post a new photo here every day. I've missed a few days, but not many, and it seems that this is now my 500th posting.
This is from the same batch as yesterday's offering, which means it was taken 50 years ago on a beach in the Aegean. I think it feels kind of timeless though...
Here's one from the archives for #MeerMittwoch. It was taken in lovely, grainy Ektachrome, in Matala, on Crete, in May 1974, which makes it exactly 50 years old.

It’s in a relatively sheltered area where #Greece’s territorial waters only stretch six miles out to sea, meaning that the cargo switching takes place in a location where it’s difficult for #Athens to intervene.
End of #Spring, and beginning of #Summer here in #Greece. Everything's just turning hot... This is a painting I did in December, but only now I have access to a scanner.
