@vintprox I couldn't visit in 2023 due to my health, however I did visit all the years prior again (minus the covid online event which was remote only).
The quality in general different always widely between speakers. Some are just better than others. I do think they do recording better nowadays. I mainly missed a devroom for c/c++ and alike and a devroom about the fediverse. #fosdem2024#cpp#c#fediverse#fosdem
Turns out #Gitea was turned into a for-profit company two years ago. The software remains MIT-licensed, but it's now centered around enterprise solutions
However Gitea's community was not happy about this and created a soft fork that remains fully-compatible, community-driven. It's called #Forgejo and #Codeberg switched to using it in favor of Gitea.
I'm interested in your feedback on these thoughts. Either here, or, if your feedback is longer, for a discussion it might be best to post to https://thunderbird.topicbox.com/groups/e2ee
Nachdem ich auf der #fosdem2024 5 Minuten mit @Gargron geredet und ein paar Euro dagelassen habe bin ich nun noch offiziellerer, inoffizieller, selbsternannter Mastodon advocate
And it is a wrap, lovely people.. I was a bit silent yesterday 'cause I was having fun moderating the #mozilla devroom.
Was a blast like always! #mozdem#fosdem2024#FOSDEM
Thanks to everybody who visited the Linux on Mobile stand! At the postmarketOS part we had so many great conversations and a fun time showing all the UIs + devices running mainline linux! A small cheatsheet revealing itself below the Sxmo phone certainly helped, and a lot of people were excited to try it out.
Shout out to our friends from the projects next to us, as always it has been amazing to collaborate with everyone! 🥳
Great to see everyone, the Mastodon stand looked super busy every single time I passed it, and it was incredible to see so many toots on the FOSDEM hashtags
Plot twist at the end of the great talk "Mainline Linux on Qualcomm SoCs, are we here now ?" by @superna9999: the presentation was running on a snapdragon devboard all along! Here is the view from the side of the stage, showing how it was barely possible to connect it to power and HDMI at the same time 😀
Nice dream, but realistic?! I would like a generally understandable explanation as to why this should happen.
I love the idea of Matrix, but in terms of functionality, speed and stability it lags far behind the big competitors.
