Basically, the reason there was that AABs (the #Android App Bundles uploaded to Play) had a higher versionCode than the APKs distributed by the other sources. Still does not explain why Google ignored the "installer" property, though.

Someone I peripherally know tries to look for an app on #FDroid (per my recommendation).
The screen is staying blank and they get no search results.
After basic troubleshooting they give up and I feel a bit dumb for having suggested the #FOSS route.
Ist bei jemand Aurora Store noch in Fdroid drin? Meines loggt sich nicht mehr ein und ist noch 4.4.2 - während es schon 4.4.3 gibt. Spricht was gegen das Herunterladen von den Entwicklern auf GitLab? Wird es dann zukünftig noch automatisch aktualisiert? - Wo sind eigentlich Issues auf GitLab?
Some of the apps in our repo were affected by vulnerabilities back in October. Most have been updated, but some not. We have a list, where you can check if your apps are still affected.
It would be cool if #FDroid took the opposite approach to Google Play App Signing, by using their build system to create a code transparency key that developers could then bundle with their app, and then developers could in turn sign that bundle with their own signing key.
That way F-Droid could distribute apps that they’ve verified reproducible builds for (and check the CT signature in the F-Droid app), without having to sign the app with their own key—a common complaint about the default F-Droid repo.
Was ist der Grund warum die #WikipediaApp aus #FDroid fast immer eine Version gegenüber der #GooglePlaystore Variante hinterher ist? Gibt es evtl. ein #Repository wo ich die aktuellste Versionen der WikipediaApp schneller bekomme als in F-Droid?
In der #FDroid Version von #Telegram FOSS kann man seine Telefonnummer nicht mehr ändern, wenn man mal die SIM wechselt. Der Anruf/Bestätigungs-SMS kommt einfach nicht. Man ist dann gezwungen die Version aus dem Play Store zu benutzen.
📝 Aggiungere un repository a F-Droid
Come fare per aggiungere un repository ad F-Droid per avere accesso alle applicazioni al di fuori dal repo ufficiale...
Now I switched completely from f-droid to f-droid basic app.
Main reason is the better version of gadgets bridge. With this version it is allowed to run in background and so I can use my mi band again for notifications and alarms.
Another: All other apps can be maintained by the basic version too. So why should I have installed two f-droid store apps?
#emacs is such a rabbit hole. I spent too much time playing with my Android setup with the #fdroid version and Unexpected Keyboard and it works surprisingly well. I'm going to need to either build myself or use the sourceforge release since fdroid doesn't have gnutls, and likely the termux compatible build as I'll likely need more packages. Eventually I'll try syncing up with my desktop config. I still don't fully understand why the f-droid version is stuck at the Feb build...
