Reading a news article I just learned that the astrological date for Beltane is actually May 5th though everybody celebrates it on May 1st technically tomorrow is the true Beltane. So if you missed it on the 1st you have a second chance to do it again tomorrow. #Beltane#witches#pagan#ceremony#celebration#brightfire#sabbat
Happy Beltane my fellow witches on the northen hemisphere! And blessed Samhain to you southern lot.
Joyous celebrations all around! #pagan#paganHolidays#beltane#mabon#witches#celebration
EDIT.
I apparently messed it up, it's Samhain down south! fixed it.
Hello, #Fediverse friends! Just got some wonderful news and wanted to share it with someone, and who better than you all. A dear friend who has been ill for a while has overcome their illness. We'll reunite tomorrow to celebrate together, but I'm bursting with joy already. Life has a way of bringing good news just when we need it most. #GoodNews#Celebration#Grateful
Participated in #Slavic beginning of #Spring#celebration (Komoeditsa, Polish #holiday name: Jare Gody). Many symbols and #traditions are the same as in #Easter celebration - painted eggs, baskets with food, willow branches... Everything related to rebirth and new beginning.
I took this photo before we lit up ritual fire. My basket was there too :blobcat_amused:
These bird-shaped cakes were used in "calling birds" Spring ritual, later they were eaten.
We celebrated closer to Moon cycle, so we had holiday this week.
It is Women's day, so enjoy your day all women - cis, trans, non-binary femmes who identify also as women, and any other version I may not know about but support. <3
I managed to do cleaning in 2 parts, (nap in between) but now I am all spent and staring at my tabletop PC like it is exhausting monster.
I will attempt to slay him (and put him back together) tomorrow. Today's allotted mana has been drained.
(Respectfully - floors are clean via hoover and mopping, dust has settled to wait another day, cats have nice, fresh bathroom(s), and human loo is also sparkly.)
It has been a hectic but transformative few weeks, but I'm very excited to share that I finally got around to updating my shops with hand-dipped spell candles!
You can choose from pure white or sigilized candles, and can even send me an image of a sigil YOU designed to be carved into the candle.
I've also added birthday candles to the shop, something I'm very excited about even though it's out of the norm a bit. As I was dipping the taper candles, and letting my kiddo run around with her very own "mini candle", I remembered her first birthday when family members arrived with those awful paraffin wax candles from the grocery store. I would have loved to have celebrated with candles that I could trust (rather than having to delicately explain to my stepmother why I didn't want those candles dripping into my kids first ever cupcake). So, it's a little "off brand" (but fuck it, I'm not a brand), but there they are! Ethical & safe birthday or celebration candles for your next wish :)
"My Mom Canceled Christmas And Invented A New Holiday. We Doubted Her At First — But Now It’s Our Favorite Day.", Amy McHugh, #Huffpost
"A decade ago, my mother announced we were no longer celebrating Christmas. Instead, we’d celebrate Seagull Day. I was sure she’d seen it on Pinterest.
'No, no,' she said. 'It’s something I thought up all on my own. We are going to decorate a tree with stale food from the cabinet and leave it for the seagulls to eat. Those guys must get hungry in winter when there aren’t any sandwiches to steal out of people’s hands.' "
This is a nice and happy family story, fit for the holiday season.
