I am using Bepanthen Scar for my top surgery scars and it surprised me. Just one use and my scars got so much softer that it is hard for me not to keep touching them. It is like a nice claming stim...

It feels so beautiful to be able to touch my chest like this. <3

If you have had top surgery a nonth ago or longer, I really recommend these scar gels. They make a huge difference in the healing process. :D

Looking for ways to find GAME TESTERS / PLAY TESTERS for a liminal indie horror game in the similiar style of another indie horror game called
"Exit 8" - PC only, early development, not many jumpscares, small team, first time finding people to test the game slated for later this year.

Please drop a comment and share!

Seems that I wont work on Monday because my cut refuses to close and I need to haul my ass to hospital on Monday morning to get it checked.

I twill try to resume usual work on Tuesday. <3

@paul
Thank you. <3 I am sure it goes well. They are just worried because it ripped open again and is slow to close.

@paul
No superglue needed! It is closing quite nicely apparently and just oozes for funsies a tad longer.
Also got to take my skintapes off so that's nice. (^_^)

@Firlefanz @paul
It is doing its darnest. (:
It still needs to deal with swelling and settling until the final result emerges in 6-11 months, but this current state is already amazing to me. <3

I have been eating antibiotics for days now, due to inflammation in my surgical wound - and it had proven to my that my ears indeed don't have issues in them that could be fixed with an antibiotic.

Instead covid caused some kind of structural damage that causes daily pain in my left ear, while my right ear hurts occasionally OR makes so ALL sounds become distorted, painful, and difficult to handle. This has been going on for almost 3 YEARS!

You don't want this.

My day began with my brain trying to both inplode and explode at the same time. Which, for the record, is not great.

So I had a nap just so I could manage to do the dishes. That "little" task took all life out of me again.

Abled people just don't know.

Huge news!

"South Breaks" made it into SPFBO 10.

It was basically a 50% chance, with almost 600 submissions and 300 books in the running.

I'm very excited. Of course, we will wait for the finalized list, and then we'll wait even longer for the reviews to trickle in. Eventually, each reviewer will list three favorites, and the final winner will be chosen from those 30 books.

I doubt South will be among those, but one can dream.

Usually I say "don't do what I just did" but this time I an proud to ask everyone who just had a top surgery to be just like me - if your wound suddenly oozes puss, call healthcare provider and get to ER for antibiotics ASAP. When caught early, there wont likely be any issues with healing and they can remove any unmelted stitches as you go. <3

I am okay, newly bandaged, unstitched, and medicated and getting good after care -and still very much on my sickleave.

hiisikoloart,
@hiisikoloart@writing.exchange avatar

@Skiriki
I am lucky enough that the infected pocket wound (which is apparently a thing) is on an entirely numb spot so it doesn't hurt at all. (:

And as bonus, I have minimal swelling, redness, and zero fever, and my infection rate is not very high (also why I entirely missed it and had no idea that I had an infection). If I hadn't by chance been laying on my side last night, and it hadn't suddenly popped through the cut, it could have gotten WAY worse.

So in all accounts I am damn lucky!

New, more reasonable, goal: finish my physical, hardcover comic book by end of this year. Set up kickstarter or something, and publish just in time for IH conference 2025.

That should be doable, and I have enough commissions waiting for me after my sickleave that I can do them and work on the project on the side. (:

I wore a shirt against my bare chest for the first time and the lack of dysphoria staggered me. It felt strange but also like I had arrived home. The level of comfort was alien, but my skin no longer felt like an enemy I have to fight every second of my existance.

Putting the vest back on to reduce swelling was like putting on a little cage...but at least I know I get that one off entirely after 3 more weeks of healing.

I might be on a sickleave, but when I noticed that app called "KinderWorld" is hiring 2D asset artists, I had to fill up their questionnaire for contact in hopes that they would like to hire me as a freelancer. (:

It would be so nice to make tiny assets again when I come off sickleave. (As an added bonus to all of the other projects I have lined up)

Now that I feel better, here's the personal art piece I didn't share earlier. (: I still have a lot of healing to do, but every day is thousand times better than past 22 years of needless, maddening dysphoria.

Healing update no.??? I can open doors, flush a toilet, and play videogames again. :P Carrying things and lifting my arms pose a great challenge.

Pain is turning into maddening itch, yet I feel better than in decades. <3 :D

I had my first dysphoria free shower today. (:
It is...strange. Is this how cis people feel in their bodies? No disgust and desire to lop things off?

Just...existing and looking at yourself from mirror like, "yup, that's me. How fun."

I still got a lot of healing to do but thus far this feeling is amazing and the pain is a worthy price to pay. <3

It's funny how tonight I can't sleep because my hips and legs are in pain, my gut hurts a ton fron endo, and I am not allowed to take any painkillers before the surgery. (^_^)*

I definitely over-did everything today trying to get everything ready for when we come back from tomorrow's battle.

The most thing I ever did was then I took out the trashes in mid winter.

I literally skipped down the stairs of the apartment building I lived in without noticing that I did not have keys or shoes on. Dropped my trashes. Walked back to the back door, and tried to yank it open. Not just once, mind you. At least 3 times.

So I RAN to my friend's place in a light blizzard, dressed in my loose t-shirt and sweatpants, to get my spare key and spare shoes.

I was undiagnosed for a long time.

It is almost funny to find out that trans people are more likely not only get covid, but die from it, or get worse outcomes - like long lasting disabilities.

If you care about trans people, and are an ally...a thing you could do to support us is to wear a good mask (N95/FFP2+). Protect yourself and others. It is the compassionate thing to do.

And if you are trans yourself - please stay safe.

I think once I am ready, I will write a horror book all about dysphoria. It will be full-on body horror.

Viceral. Violent. Vile.

And soon I can speak about it from the safe space of recovery. Draw horror from within without reminding myself of the reality I have lived in for 22 years.

I have a working name for it already. Catharsis.

Today it happened. A fear I have had since the pandemic started....

...I sneezed inside my mask.

The horror. The ick.

But I still kept it on for the whole way back home, and endured the heat, the stickiness, the sensory overload - all because I don't want to get sick or give spread sickness.

Masking is caring. Even when you got snot all over your face. :P
