Good #Friday everyone. Today's my usual work from home day, so I get some quiet and can focus on getting some code written. Also means I can pick a #CD out of my modest collection and listen to it on the stereo, just like the #90s . Today it's the turn of Green Day's Warning: an enjoyably mixed record from 2000.
Tried to play a #CD on my wife's old stereo that's in the living room. Resulted in confused tray movements and really loud angry whirring sounds. Luckily the #Sony stereos from the early 2000s have good service manuals you can find online, and all it took was to replacing the perished belt with a little rubber band. A good Saturday night.
One of the few (if not only?) Coltrane albums with a guitarist. Burrell does some great Django-esque playing here, and it's arguable who's the main star here.
Just finished mastering an awesome 8-song rock project for some talented people in NJ. I can't wait to listen to the CD after they're pressed. I have the hi-res files in front of me, but there's always something special about listening to the songs off of a commercially made CD.
I remember when CD's were new, and even the THOUGHT of an indie band getting them made in small quantities simply did not exist (unless you paid a fortune).
Found my DVD+R drive for my Mac. Found a USB A to C adapter. The M1 Mac recognized there was a device!
Now to find if I have anything to test it with...
UPDATE: Found a CD-ROM of image files from 2002. It was dusty and some sticky stuff had grown on it. Soap, water, and a microfiber carefully applied fixed that. I then realized the label was paper... oopsy.
That said, the M1 Mac read perfectly from the DVD writer that contains 2010 on the base.

Un #PC au format tour un peu ancien devrait faire l'affaire. Rapprochez-vous d'une asso de #réemploi près de chez vous par exemple.
Pour ce qui est de la sauvegarde, pas besoin de graver d'autres CD : je vous conseille une conversion directe au format #FLAC. C'est un format #audio compressé, mais non destructif. Autrement dit, un morceau de #musique sauvegardé en FLAC permettra de #graver un #CD audio, si besoin, avec la qualité d'origine.
I've made a new #workflow which is tagging and releasing #cd built images automatically too. I can't wait for @nlnetlabs releasing a new #unbound version to watch the #magic. Or to watch it fail.
In my dev-env it works like a charm, though.
I don't want to seem arrogant but I guess this is one of the most feature-rich, secure and advanced image around. And always made with ❤️.
I'm a lazy person so I've implemented a #cd to automatically #update my #unbound#docker image as soon as @nlnetlabs publishes a new release. No worries, I can and will update the image manually in case #cve's got fixed in a component as you are used to. No sacrifice in terms of #security, so the unbound #sha256 will be populated, too to verify the integrity of the source tarball.
