So I'm not going to second guess the emergency managers here, but here is the first EAS alert (not local alerts, but those sent via WEA) that I was able to find in my bot, which posts and archives ALL of these nationally. (time here is PT). The "alert polygon" does not include all of #Lahaina, only people in reach of cell towers in that zone would typically receive the message. This one posted at 1918 PDT, which is 1618 HAST (4:18pm). #Maui #Alerts #Analysis

They are louder and if you do a sound frequency analysis, you'll notice instead of most of the calm hives, A3, we have a G#3 hive here. Don't know if that is significant, but it is different. This hive is also louder (not captured in the graph/sound), i.e. more bees react when you open the hive than others.

Saw an article about how bizarre the livestreams on #TikTok have gotten and it reminded me of an old piece that I wrote back in college about Chinese streamers: https://electrastreet.net/2019/09/what-kind-of-work-is-live-streaming/

Back then, the West didn’t really have much of a live stream culture, and looking into China’s industry felt like an alternative reality. Now, I’d say a lot of my analysis still stands up fairly well.
