The 15 car convoy arrived to the PL/UA border this morning. Queue is slowly moving. Expect to be through in 2-3 hours. Vehicles for the Army and the L'viv Water company. :trizub:
Why? Because fuck you Putin.
Good will triumph over evil.
#EverythingOpen is large financial outlay, even if our tickets are reasonably priced due to our generous #Sponsors and dedicated #volunteer organisers.
We now have an Online Only ticket option for just $79, reflecting the additional costs of providing a hybrid #conference, but we hope it makes Everything Open more affordable for more people.
🧤Tonight, I say goodbye to an incredible season at the Malden Warming Center.
It's been a privilege to serve alongside dedicated volunteers and meet remarkable guests. Together, we looked beyond circumstances, recognizing the inherent dignity in each person. ✨
These connections will forever shape me.🙏🏽
✈️ In just a few days, I'm off to Ukraine for a humanitarian volunteer trip. 🇺🇦
🌎Caring for our communities, wherever they may be, takes a collective effort.
2/4 Then I headed back up to Beacon Hill to help with the Beacon Hill Safe Streets community bike ride around SE Seattle led by Jimmy, Alyssa, & Brett

3/4 Everyone on the Beacon Hill Safe Streets community bike ride was able to enjoy freshly installed concrete protection on the Columbian Way bike lanes while construction workers were installing more pieces; we cheered on the workers as we passed by. Thank you SDOT! #SEAbikes#Seattle#Volunteer#BikeTooter#PNW
I recently spoke with @Edent on Volunteer Technologist about memorial benches, @openstreetmap, and the #Fediverse. Here's a clip talking about the amazing number of benches that have been cataloged, and you can find the entire episode Apple & Spotify now and in #Podcasting 2.0 apps later today (I just changed #podcast hosts and some things are still updating)

🇺🇦On the two-year anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, I want to share a message of hope and resilience from a displaced 14-year-old Ukrainian at the humanitarian center in Przemsyl, Poland, in 2022.🇵🇱
🌍Together, through collective solidarity, we can create a positive impact. Let’s join forces and take action for Ukraine. 🕊️
🇺🇦Almost two years ago, Putin chose war and invaded Ukraine, unleashing unspeakable violence and brutality upon the Ukrainian people.
👉🏽The Ukrainian people are resilient, we know that. But don’t confuse resilience with not needing help. They are resilient because they have no option.
🌍Together, through collective solidarity, we can create a positive impact. Let’s join forces and take action for Ukraine.
Hey all, #trans people and femmes in #Alabama are dealing with some really fashy laws right now (surrounding #abortion trans rights, etc). A #queer friend of mine who lives there asked that people sign up to #volunteer remotely with this lovely organization: https://www.rainbowprideofmobile.org/. I just signed up and would love if folx could join me! Thank you all for your queered care and solidarity 🏳️⚧️💞
In light of the recent wave of spam, I figured I would throw another one of these out there. If you like the server you're on, and are concerned, there might be a way you can help.
If you're in good standing (haven't had any issues with moderation), are fairly active (check once a day), feel like you know your way around Fedi at this point, and maybe have experience as a #moderator on #Discord, or some other #Forum, consider contacting your server staff and volunteering for moderation duty. All it takes is being able to check reports periodically, and take action on the ones you're confident about: you don't even have to deal with the more complicated ones.
Right now, I think a lot of these servers could use someone who just watches the feed for this bot net, so new bots can get banned quickly.
As usual, also consider donating to your server, and possibly mods if they have a thing for it.
My submission proposals for PyCon US 2024 were rejected. 🥲
Congratulations to all the speakers, especially first-time-speakers. 👏
Thanks to all the volunteers who worked to review all the proposals. 🙏
Have fun everyone in Pittsburgh. 🎉 https://us.pycon.org/2024/
