In 2022, via the @IrishExaminer, I've been lucky enough to pursue my grá for the chats on a full-time basis.
From Ireland's neurodivergent community, its DIY arts scenes and the Irish language; to astronauts, particle physicists and gosh-dang, mother-heckin' Super Mario.
#QuestionOfTheDay: what's your video game, anime or manga hot take? Like an actually scorching hot take that you actually believe and would cause controversy.
*As an example of the kinds of takes i mean, on the radio they did sports hot takes and 3 that came up were:
any NBA player over 6'7" could become a professional soccer goalie with only a month of training
an educated sports fan could do about as well as any professional GM at drafting 1st round picks over a 10 year span just by following general scouting rankings
a decently fit person could rush for 1 yard in the NFL with a good enough O line
#StardewValleyJournal
Day 1 (Yesterday): Santa was dying on a trampoline or something and gave me the deed to a farm. I hadn't settled on the idea of doing an ongoing journal yet, so this is the only picture I have of the day.
I cleared out some land. Made a chest for excess materials. Planted 15 parsnips, and ran around town trying to meet everyone to fulfill some social quest that would crush me with anxiety if this were real life. I ended the day by checking the weather (Sunny day tomorrow) and went to bed.
As a cis woman who grew up playing video games and continued to enjoy them into adulthood, I’ve always struggled with the lack of quality girly games out there
The market is there! The demand is there! And girly games are FUN!
It's the sequel thread, and this time I'll do it right!
I'll reply to this thread every time I "finish" playing a video game this year. That could mean getting to the end of the story it tells, or just getting to a point where I think I've experienced what the game has to offer me.
By "doing it right" I mean that I won't forget about the part where I don't actually have to play to what would be considered the end of the game.
Will start a little series here about me browsing this Club Nintendo issue from July 1995 (Nintendo Power in the US). 📖
I explicitly bought this one recently because I have so fond childhood memories. It must have been one of the few I owned and therefore read endless times. I still remember so much of the content and now I'm excited to refresh these memories.
The cover shows Asterix & Obelix, a PAL exclusive game series. 🐗
It's time for a new and my third run of Mass Effect Andromeda. The more I play, the better my Ryder looks. It's easy for me to choose professional over casual (since casual is too sarcastic), but whenever I try to be logical, I end up switching back to being emotional before I even land on Eos!

I like #gaming social media challenges, so I'm going to cross one over I did a while back.
Being suppressed for the longest time, being able to escape into a game was the only way I could really see and express myself. So, I sought out games with female characters.
So, this is my personal female #VideoGame character celebration challenge.
List a game for every letter of the alphabet. #AtoZ
The game must meet the following criteria:
Must have a playable female character
Must be a game I have personally played
Each day will bring with it a different game for each letter. Can I get the whole alphabet filled?
(EDIT: Thread is complete. If I'm boosting it. It's probably because I felt it was relevant at the time)
What games would you suggest that have LAN support these days?
While PC may be one's first thought here, I'd also be really interested in any mobile games that might leverage one's local wifi network for multiplayer.
Morning Folks! I've been spending some time playing that other new survival game that does not involve catching them all... #Enshrouded. This morning I share some of my very early thoughts about the game after having played around six hours.
Anyone who is reading this plays #Linux games on their TV in the living room? What's your setup? Do you just have #SteamDeck hooked-up with a dock or do you use Steam Link software on your TV to stream #VideoGames from your gaming PC or do you have a "Steam Machine" type of a dedicated device just for TV #gaming? I wish to hear about it.
It's an incentive for devs to put their back catalogues to EGS, after they just laid off 800 employees because they spend too much money. Is it just me, or does everyone besides Epic know what the problem is with EGS?
Indie vs AAA games
I remember growing up playing Nintendo games up and other AAA games until I started watching YT. Particular TB and adjacent YouTubers....
We're in danger of losing 87% of games and it's only getting worse. (www.youtube.com)
