One of my favorite conventions, Go Play NW, is trying to crowdfund through BackerKit this year to a) cover costs and b) lower ticket prices. However, they can't even launch their campaign until enough people sign up to be notified about the campaign. Please consider signing up. **This does not obligate you to back the campaign once it launches. **

How often do we suggest someone else indulge in entertainment we love? Or someone else suggests we immerse ourselves in their favorite fandom? While it’s great to try new things, we should also feel free to pass and say “It’s just not for me.” Likewise we should respect when others say “No, thanks,” when we enthusiastically promote our own passions.
Why are you playing #solorpg systems? #ttrpgs are living off their social interaction and emergent storytelling, which is not-existent or strongly diminished when playing solo. Which system do you play and what makes them work for you? #rpg#pnpde#pnp
@lextenebris The last paragraph depicts my thoughts about it.
In my book #solorpg are a vastly different experience to "ordiniary" #ttrpgs with multiple players.
There's more than one kind of immersion in #TTRPGs. While character immersion gets the lion's share of discussion, you can also be immersed in the game mechanics, imagining the fiction, and even the events happening to the table as a whole. None of them are more important than the others.
You know, I should try to write more on #Mastodon instead of merely lurking and reposting stuff. I enjoy writing, but I lack the will and time to commit to something substantial, which is why toots might be a good fit. I have plenty of things I could write about like #books, #movies, and #ttrpgs.
But the 500 character limit really bugs me. It’s either squeezing a thought into a single toot, or expanding it into a thread which is a clumsy way to communicate. Otherwise, I risk running out of cha
During my 40+ years of roleplaying gaming my tastes have changed, moving from reveling in multifaceted complexities in my game rules to a more elegant, streamlined approach reflecting my far more limited time and energy as well as an urge to make the hobby more accessible to newcomers.
managed to get a public ip for my raspberry, now am in process of setting up Galene as a video conference system to use for #ttrpgs.
not without issues, had to completely rebuild my system because getting the public IP did something to my configuration and I decided it wasn't worth figuring out what if I could just rebuild everything.
I still haven't given up on the #BBS idea, but maybe I am going to check out some other systems that are not Synchronet.
Started #the7thcontinent for the first time tonight. I was on the fence about whether I would like this, but 2 hours in I'm loving it! Anyone else here play it? #boardgames#ttrpgs
I’m slowly rehabilitating the minis I painted way back in high school. Took photos of the latest ones, Grenadier skeletons. I usually just touch up the paint job, drybrush highlights, and give them a dark wash before sprucing up the base. These I stripped and started over from scratch since I wasn’t satisfied with the job young-me had done.
curious, does anyone run or play #ttrpgs that have no leveling for PCs? I wonder if anyone's using them for long form campaigns and how players keep up motivation?
I got to thinking about Generic TTRPG systems, and why I don't really care when I see a new one. It's not that I own a lot of them. It's that they're really just generic combat systems. It doesn't matter how great your new combat system is... I want to do more than just go around fighting people.
@masukomi Why is #Genesys listed as "sadly abandoned" in your round up of generic #ttrpgs? To each their own, of course, but it's my group's #ttrpg of choice, and we use it for a variety of genres, to tell stories of characters who do struggle and who do not spend most of their time in combat.
Hello! I'm Hazel, a queer foxgirl software developer.
I'm a transfem demigirl and I also describe myself as lesbian, although its a bit more complicated than that. I care deeply about trans issues, queer life, and other LGBTQ+ topics. DMs are open to anyone questioning their gender or struggling with their identity.
I also love programming as a hobby and I babble with retro-computing. I've got a particular fondness for 80s era computers, even though they're well before my time. There's just something fun about the unique and creative computer designs from that decade! I've got a Timex Sinclair 2068 that I especially love.
Some other things I like are PC gaming and TTRPGs. You'll often find me playing Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, or D&D 5th edition. I also love trying out indie games, so please tell me about your own!
My current passion project is ActivityPub Sharp - an attempt to build a static-typed implementation of ActivityPub with full support for spec-compliant and real-world federation. I also contribute to Letterbook with the hope of sparking a new generation of safer and more private fediverse software.
Feel free to start up a conversation about these or any other topics - I love to chat!

Jennell Jaquays, who passed away last week, left behind a rich legacy of gaming inspiration in both #TTRPGs and computer games. But an oft-overlooked piece of her artwork inspired my own gaming adventures in a galaxy far, far away.
I thought that I had seen the maximum GAS via being exposed to #yarcrafts#TTRPGs and #Photography but oh my #Synth people are like the Pinnacle of GAS and #Dawless synth-heads even more so....
