Hundreds of protesters took to the streets across the country in the South Caucasus, blocking roads as part of a “nationwide campaign of disobedience” to demand the Prime Minister’s resignation.
People shouldn't be calling for Alito's or Thomas' recusal(s). We should be calling - insisting - that they resign.
They are the epitome of unethical, biased and of poor moral character. They are both politically compromised.
The fact that "Chief" Justice Roberts is doing nothing is barely more reassuring. The opinions coming from the court are garbage and the "rule of law" has been tossed. Why should anyone adhere to any decision coming from them?
#Menendez Faces Fresh Calls to #Resign After #Qatar Claims
The New Jersey Democrat "is a #disgrace and a distraction, and he should #resign immediately," said one critic.
U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez endured new demands for his resignation on Tuesday after federal prosecutors accused him of taking bribes related to the government of Qatar, building on previous calls for the New Jersey Democrat to step down.
“At the resort, #ClarenceThomas gave a speech at an off-the-record #conservative conference. He found himself seated next to a #Republican member of #Congress on the flight home. The two men talked, and the lawmaker left the conversation worried that Thomas might #resign.
“Congress should give #SCOTUS justices a pay raise, Thomas told him. If lawmakers didn’t act, ‘one or more justices will leave soon’ — maybe in the next year.” (Barely veiled threat)
Today was the last day I worked at https://getir.com , world's prime fast delivery company. Even though there are awesome engineers inside (one of the best, really!), recent restructuring changes and decisions of directors led me to resign and look for new opportunities.
For a week, I'll rest (play with my #SteamDeck like a lifeless kid), reset my head, then will start working on a new company.
On the call, #Trump mentioned allegations of fraudulent ballots hidden in suitcases, which the #DOJ had already taken "a hard look at" & debunked, per #BillBarr's testimony.
#MarkMeadows told #SpecialCounsel#JackSmith's team that, around that time, he often wanted to #resign over concerns that the way certain allegations of #fraud were being handled could have a negative impact -- but didn't because he wanted to help ensure a peaceful transfer of power.
The Speaker of the Canadian parliament resigned in apology for a shameful act by the government and by the House.
Kevin McCarthy got booted from the speaker's chair by the hard-right alternate-reality regressive Nazi-aligned elements of his own party that he did a "deal with the devil" with to get elected in the first place.
“I’ve done many very difficult things being one woman standing many times with many very long hours and personal sacrifices, but there is a limitation to human capacity”
NJ Sen. Corey #Booker (on BirdChan, so no link for obvious reasons):
“Stepping down is not an admission of guilt but an acknowledgment that holding public office often demands tremendous sacrifices at great personal cost. Senator Menendez has made these sacrifices in the past to serve. And in this case he must do so again. I believe stepping down is best for those Senator Menendez has spent his life serving.”
The media missed an absurd notion held by Feinstein and her colleagues
When recently asked about her absence, Ms. Feinstein could not recall she had been gone.
The concept of public service is to serve the public. No corporate executive would be allowed to continue in such a state, and the people of California deserve no less. It’s time to remind the members of Congress what it means to put the country above self.
We should not hold a United States senator to a lower standard than that to which we hold all other Americans. We should expect that a senator would, at minimum, perform the basic duties of their job, like casting votes, rather than clench power at the public’s expense (after all, it’s not like they’re Supreme Court justices, who are apparently allowed to do whatever they want).
