And with my growing frustration of people posting links to content behind a #paywall on social media (especially reddit) I stand by what i said last December ;)
OK, now I'm totally sold. Turns out that because of my history of building open source projects, I get to use #github#copilot for free. Kind of hard to beat that deal. I am definitely going to hype this project, even though I know some are not happy with it.
I'm tickled every time someone posts an article from The Washington Post because I'm not going to give away my details to their site for even more spam, market research, etc, etc. I'm not paying them either. So many subscriptions in this life.
If you install a #javascript addon to your browser you'll never accidentally look at Twitter again. Bonus: this also bypasses virtually every #paywall.
This kind of #Paywall could work. It's not perfect, but that's a hard exercice to build paywalls.
If you have ideas for improvements, I'll take it!

My favorite Opensource Game engine added forced branding without a subscription to exported games.
I repeat, forced branding in an open source engine.
Not okay or cool and I can't think of any arguments that make this an appropriate decision.
G Develop is the engine, if anyone is wondering. #OpenSource#gamedev#gdevelop#paywall
May we complain every now and than?
How about a respective #paywall tag?
"The issue with good media is that most people can’t afford that. All the essential, fair and nuanced reporting is all stuck behind a paywall. People can’t afford rent. People can’t afford food, not healthy food. They can’t afford an education. They damn sure can’t afford to pay for the truth. Say what you want about a conspiracy theory, but at least it’s affordable."
Roy Wood Jr. at WH Correspondence Dinner
Was just asked by a friend if I wanted a #BlueSky invite.
My reply?
“Thanks but no thanks.”
Why?
Because I don’t need to see the app. I know the people behind it and what they stand for. The app can only ever be a manifestation of (or an initial misdirection from) that.
Expecting the wolf that took a bite out of you last time to this time act in your interests is how you end up as its dinner.
"Implementing the #NelsonMemo via an #APC model is antithetical to the equity goals so clearly articulated in the guidance memo and the values of our institutions."
"Article processing charges (#APCs) and read-and-publish models…reinforce inequities in scholarly publishing…These models typically move the #paywall from the reader to the author which excludes many authors in the global #South. The UK is already unusual in its over-reliance on read-and-publish agreements to achieve #OpenAccess."
Dazu vor Ort u.a. Spezialitäten wie Klavierräume, 3D-Drucker, Nähwerkstatt oder oder... ruhig mal vorbeischauen!
OC iOS shortcut to bypass paywall
There was a post recently for how to bypass paywalls and one of the suggestions was to prefix 12ft.io to the url....
