Good news! Mona will be a one-time purchase app, and will be available on App Store this Spring:
Free trial: 14-day full-feature access for free, with no recurring fee.
Mona Essential: full-feature access on a single platform (iPhone, iPad, or Mac) for 10 USD.
Mona Extra: full-feature access on 3 platforms (iPhone, iPad, and Mac), and supports family sharing. Mona users can upgrade from Essential to Extra for 7 USD.
If you have purchased Spring or Spring mini, Mona Extra will be just 9 USD.
@MonaApp#MonaApp is still the best #Mastodon client. It works great for me on iPhone but it‘s even better on iPad. No cluttered interface, very good functions, absolute fair price. Go get it.
#MonaApp users: is anyone else getting notifications of new followers months after that person actually followed you? I am and it's really annoying. thoughts?
Listen. Just for those Apple app authors crowing about how exciting #iOS17 is and how they’re starting to code for that. Even #iOS16. Just understand that iPad Air 2’s, and god knows how many other “legacy” devices that actually still work perfectly fine, CANNOT be updated beyond 15.7.9. I have my Air 2 open and on a stand with #Trello right now, and THANKFULLY #MonaApp also still runs on it as do many of the other apps I use. But please, PLEASE - especially if your app just does text or checkboxes or notifications, right - because you’ve been able to manipulate that stuff since iOS1 or so - PLEASE don’t make your app depend on minimum iOS16 or 17. Mona didn’t. Follow their lead.
People on older devices don’t give a toss “what percentage of Apple users as a whole are using iOSx”. Believe it. The Air2 works fine, as does my iPhone13 Pro on 15.4.1.
Need to find a free app for #Mac that does this with the system tray icons (I can’t remember the official name for this section of the desktop on MacOS). Screenshot shown. Basically just shrink the padding for all of them. I don’t need ANY other functionality, no hiding icons for example. Just more compact padding.
@bitterseeds@EpiphanicSynchronicity 1000% agree. I’m happy to drop cash on things I believe are worth it (eg #MonaApp and #Obsidian), but if all the code does is take a padding of x pixels and make that x-10 pixels then screw dropping sixteen clams on it. I’m spoiled because Windows has the excess icon hiding built in, and 7TaskbarTweaker bartenderizes the spacing for free.
I’m seeing a LOT of Mac apps out there charging for features which are free on Windows and I don’t know why. Is it because people think that Mac users must be made of money because they can afford a Mac in the first place? Polar opposite is Linux stuff, I actually don’t even know of any Linux apps one needs to pay for. But yeah. If I find a free systray icon spacing compactor I’ll post the link.
#MonaApp desktop users: Can anyone help me find (preferably with screenshots lol) how to get to the “Settings” menu (for example, to tweak the Accessibility settings) when using the desktop version (using MacBook Air)? I know it’s somewhere but I can’t find it…help!

YES! 💉😷 “#FDA gave the green light to updated #Covid-19 #vaccine booster shots from #Moderna and #Pfizer/BioNTech. The updated vaccines are each approved for people 12 and older and are authorized under emergency use for individuals 6 months through 11 years old. As part of the FDA’s update, the original bivalent Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccines are no longer authorized for use in the US” 1/...
@GottaLaff Yay!!! I was hoping you would but didn’t want to push lol. I hope you like it! If you have any questions about features or customizations, just ask in a post and tag #MonaApp…there’s a really helpful online community of users here. :)
I love being able to freely choose from a large plethora of well-written and well-designed #Mastodon clients. My current favorites are (order doesn't matter):
➡️ @mammoth: the only client allowing to view ALL posts from accounts, even from other instances. Great for discovering interesting profiles & content.
➡️ @IceCubesApp: great app and clear design language. For me the best designed app.
➡️ @ivory: robust & also well-designed. Comes with a #widget.
Just discovered that @MonaApp has this awesome nead feature to download and view content from profiles that lay on instances other than your own 💪✌️ I like the app more and more every day 😅 #mastodon#MonaApp
Weird. In #MonaApp for Mac, if I press and hold PGUP in a column, it scrolls upward really slow. But if I tap PGUP multiple times it pages-up about ten times quicker.
I absolutely LOVE the customization options of @MonaApp for iPhone. I can actually make it very close #MastodonBirdUI because I can pick the hex colors, change profile photos to circular, make breathing space more relaxed etc. Good job! #BirdUI#Apps#UI#MastodonApps#iPhone#iOS#Mastodon

Right. Help an ignoramus out. What’s the difference between Lemmy and Kbin? I’m using #Memmy for #Lemmy, and now #Artemis for #kbin. Load them up and lo and behold they show exactly the same posts? I was expecting completely different federated “galaxies”. Do I just.. use a single app now? I thought the services were different but hell, I’ve been plenty misguided in the past..
@RickRussell_CA Aha! That explains it. And yes, I did read something about Artemis being in TestFlight mode only until the “API is released”. For now I think I’ll use Memmy, it seems to be the most comprehensive and closest to Reddit functionality. I honestly hope that the author of #MonaApp one day decides to put together a lemmy client - Mona is one of the most polished client apps I’ve ever used on iPhone.
