You know, I could have sworn this was fixed with #MonaApp but I must have been mistaken. See attached pic. If you press that button on the Mona toolbar while typing, you can type a hashtag fine, but if you move the cursor to the start of a word you already typed and then press it, it enters a pound symbol AND A SPACE AS WELL. Super annoying. I’ve turned off the social keyboard (for reasons) and want to use that # button to turn words into tags but the added space is frustrating.
@MonaApp Feature request for #MonaApp: copy notification settings from one account to another. There are so many and you have to dig so deep to tweak them all, it would be nice to get them just right on one account and then clone them to another.
How do I instantly scroll right to the top of the Local server view in #MonaApp on iOS? It seems that when I tap the top left, it scrolls up a chunk of entries but not all the way - I have to either tap several times OR manuscroll to the top.
edit: it seems to scroll exactly 50% of the number of entries away from most recent that I am. Like if I’m 222 entries in, it scrolls to 111. Then 55, then 22 and so on. Weird.
@MonaApp has a huge problem handling Bluesky handles. Consider having a bluesky handle and Mastodon handle of the same name, for example "itsme”. So, the handles would be:
I generally like @MonaApp, but the alt text input is in obvious need of a redesign (on iOS). It hides the image, the window is unnecessarily small. Also text recognition from images would be super helpful, this was something Metatext did well. #MonaApp#A11y
@MonaApp a feature request; have an option to “hide” a hashtag or account in the #MonaApp Home timeline while still following them, so I can follow them only in a list?
There are a lot of situations where I want to follow but only in a list so my home timeline doesn’t get too overwhelming.
Welp, as of Friday my foray into the Mac world pretty much ceases. I am no longer working for that company. Bye bye M2 Macbook Pro.
Although, I do have an old Mac Mini knocking around here, from like 2017 - bought it on Nextdoor for $50, literally never took it out of its box. Might set it up just for #MonaApp, assuming that even runs on it.
An interesting new feature that I've only just noticed has been added to @MonaApp:
Adding an image from your Photos library to which you have already added a Caption (in Photos) automatically adds that caption as your image description/alt-text in Mona.
The video shows this in action (nb the centre bit where I locate the photo has been edited to remove personal content).
