I did actually do a little painting in December I just need to remember to get some pictures of everything. Sorting out my desk so got a quick picture of these Zombies. 20 more to go, super fast slapchop painting I may improve on later. Got 20 survivors to paint up too at some point.

Spent an hour total time (but about 30 min actually ) to get Laurie from to this point.

I have a wash to apply tomorrow though I've never used a wash but hope it brings out some more definition between the light and the dark.

Not entirely sure what to do with the base. Thinking the girls will have matte black with a colored outside rim and the Killers have all blacl with blood splatter?

Thoughts or comments to help me improve?

Listening some for the first time in forever while I try my hand at again

I've only ever done the 10 minis from My Little Scythe which are quite a bit bigger than these

I used slap chop before but trying something slightly different for these girls. Primed in black, then zenithal primed from the direction of a light source with Necrotic Flesh. Dry brushed white at light source and dry brush grey on dark. Hoping it makes it warmer than norm slap

I decided to give a static grass applicator, which I was gifted by Secret Santa, a test run.

be warned, the results were shocking!

My wife said 'I'll be expecting loud swearing soon'.

I found the charging wire was too light and didn't contact the mesh sufficiently. I weighted it and then tested it. Then I zapped myself HARD.

Reader, loud swearing ensued.

Put it away for the day.

Cheap screw on lid with hole with metal mesh hot-glued in. Christ, they sell this on Amazon but I bet making one from stuff in my shed will even undercut the fellas on AliExpress and Temu
Static cup with infinitely more static grass being static and standing to attention on the inside than I saw on the bases at any moment on glued surfaces.

I'm so proud of these!
I made some rubble piles for and I'm extremely happy with how they turned out. The rusted chain I think looks particularly good. I also enjoyed being able to use up all the leftover junk from previous projects. Wooden boards from tables, clay plates and bowls, some spare skulls, all tossed in to the heap!

Tried to get that sweet galaxy look but ran into problems.

  • the blue I wanted to use was opaque rather than transparent.
  • the orange I then used was too opaque
  • quincadrone pink tried and too opaque.

Eventually settled for dark blue wash as a filter but it covers differently.

I am not sure if I don't just outright hate the mottling.

Just got my minis for my new character! She's a Rune Knight, which means she has the ability to grow to size large. I've kept the big mini a secret from my party and I'm very excited to smack down the big mini onto the table next time we have combat.
