For the most part, many of the amenities here are welf-served . Most restaurants indulge us, foreign idiots, with extra service, while locals would've usually done it by themselves.
Guidelines are sparse, so I really feel sorry for the staff (and me) for abusing their hospitality, whenever I see the locals just do it for themselves.
Although this is pretty much a direct translation of the Dutch “Is er een storing in de buurt”, in the current context, it very much doesn’t mean the same thing in English, my dear KPN 😬

Some parts of Lost in Translation, however, haven’t aged so well. Like, ah, the ages. Bill Murray was 52 when this film was shot; Scarlett Johansson was 17. There’s a huge imbalance that’s nothing short of creepy, and it’s impossible to watch now without being grossed out by any hint of attraction.

I also saw this film 20 years ago, quite liked some of it, but was absolutely grossed-out right from the start [ie, 2 decades ago] about the entire premise of 52 y/o male with 17 y/o female. Grabbed this from the local mart, without reading the (translated) labels very closely. I thought it was soymilk, but apparently "soybean water" is a thing here, which is meant for making some kind of cold noodle dish. 😅
It tasted like soymilk, except it's unsweetened (which I'm fond of) and has a thicker consistency, and thought we should have something like this back home.
