Digging trough some drawers, looking for something completely different and look what I found:
Star Ocean - The Second Story for Playstation 1 PSX from 2000. Back when Square Enix was still just "enix". The manual has an ad for the then new "Dualshock" controller in a clear translucent case. I'd love one, bring back transparent controllers!
I'm lukewarm on remakes in general, but I have to say that the Super Mario RPG remake is fantastic and it feels like a real love letter to the original game in everything from the graphics and the scripting to the sound. I'm kind of blown away by it.
Trying out some colour on a character design drawing for Pauri. Not sure if I'll keep this overall colour scheme for her clothing, but the red driving cap stays no matter what, as it links to the character's naming.
Pauri will be the first boss you fight in the game I'm making, 'Future Ghost'. There's more to her than just that, though.
Pretty sure these are done. Maybe a bit more force on the back leg in the walk.
'Future Ghost', the game I'm making, is set on Mars, so I'm determined to depict the one thing humans will never be able to change about that environment; its lower gravity.
It's currently 6 to 12 months off completion, at a generous estimate. It's a narrative-driven game, a metaphysical scifi 2D point & click adventure with turn-based battles, presented in a graphical style that evokes mid-80s comic print. It's called 'Future Ghost'.
Besides that, I'm a dad, a husband, and a teacher in my day job.
Well, I am fully and certifiably addicted to JRPGs. It was only a matter of time. Anyways, what is ya’lls favorite in the genre? Any forgotten classics/hidden gems/diamonds in the rough I may not be aware of? My favorites are: Final Fantasy IV(obsessed with this game, can’t believe I almost skipped right to FFVI 😳) Final Fantasy I, Earthbound, Pokémon Red/Blue/Gold/Silver.
The first three Dragon Quests are on Switch, maybe I’ll give those a shot? Idk, any help would be appreciated!
It's Trans Awareness Week, so what better time to introduce you to Ugo? They're an old friend to the protagonist of 'Future Ghost', Wei Song. Ugo is more gender fluid than trans.
I'll post updates to this image with more details about Ugo as the week progresses. For now, the pencil linework and initial shadows.
Just did my first day of the early shift this week and already feel like the undead.
This week looks like its going to be brutal.
Got these two gorgeous games in, or should I say 4. 😉
They weren't cheap, but they have been going out of stock everywhere I've been looking locally, so panicked and ordered them from the UK to be sure that I didn't have to pay an eBay scalper double or more in a couple of months.
The pencils for Ugo have now been scanned in and the outlines "inked" as vector art, in red for visibility.
When we meet Ugo in 'Future Ghost', they are working as a fixer, operating in the gaps and grey areas where the Dome City police can't or won't help. Most of Ugo's clients are Earthborn. Ugo would tell you they do it for the money, but I'm not so sure that's all there is to it.
