#Steam has a tag for retro-styled #FPS games 'boomer shooters', and WHAT?? Do they mean boomers as in the generation? Boomers were not playing #Doom, etc. It was GenX gamers! I know, I was there!
#Crysis Remastered was kinda only Decent, got interesting at the end but should have done so earlier IMO.
I gotta give it this though, having the player physically shove down the control rods in a melting down nuclear reactor is a great way to showcase "badass protag + crazy strong armor/body"

32 years ago today on May 5 1992, one of the greatest games of all time (and forever my favorite first person shooter), Wolfenstein 3D, was released. I wrote about it for the list of 20 video games I can't stop thinking about (https://spacetimetech.wordpress.com/2024/04/06/20-video-games-i-cant-stop-thinking-about). I still play it regularly. Sometimes weekly. Killing digital Nazis is always fun and therapeutic.
When playing a shooter on #SteamDeck with trackpad, I saw a suggestion to use the left trigger for firing.
It makes a lot of sense, not only considering the SDs size and the strain it puts on thumb + index finger to have to stretch so far, but also in regards to precise movement of the thumb.
It makes me wonder why not all games have the trigger on the left. Seems like there could be merit even when aiming with the stick. (At which I'm awful anyhow.)
