"This one was having so much fun jumping down the big hole in the Sword-Singer's Redoubt courtyard that he didn't even notice this handy magic rope until now. He'll probably just keep on jumping down because it's funner, but he won't turn down taking the magic rope back up to the top again!"
Finished What Remains of Edith Finch on the Steam Deck over the last couple of nights. A short walking sim/light puzzle game where the protagonist attempts to unravel a mystery about why everyone in her extended family has died.
Quite poignant and eerie, I enjoyed it a lot! #ShareYourGames
Finally finished BioShock tonight after 17 years and two previous failed attempts!
Finally clicked as I played it more like an immersive sim than a straight FPS, and while it has some flaws (endless pipe mania, basically a corridor shooter and slightly awkward combat), the visual design, plasmids and tonics elevated it into something more than the sum of its parts. #ShareYourGames
I was in the mood for some arcade gaming yesterday after work, so I started playing some Gun.Smoke, 19XX, GigaWing, Final Fight on Capcom Arcade Stadium.
Then I moved on to Ketsui Deathtiny on PS4, by Cave and M2, which is exclusive to the system.
It's one of the Cave games I'm not actually good at, but I love it nonetheless and the new modes are just brilliant!
The Deathtiny one especially is actually very easy with a tiny hitbox. So much fun!
The GameBoy had some amazing games. 🥰
I wasn't quite ready to let this system go, after speeding through Mario Land 2. So I played SML 1 too (first try, no savestates, 35 minutes) and I'm now replaying #DonkeyKong. I forgot how clever the game is at showing what you can do and how it keeps adding new things all the way until the end. I'm now at the second to last stage and I still haven't reached the "let's get this over with" state. 😁 #ShareYourGames
Finally finished Dust: An Elysian Tail. Took me an eternity and a half to finish it, but I savored every moment of it like a fine wine. This will probably go down as one of my all time fave Metroidvanias to play!
The brand new rescan for N64 Magazine 4 - July 1997 (UK) has just been added to the preliminary magazine catalogue.
As always, this version has not gone through the full restoration process, so it will look rougher compared to the old, fully edited one.
But with this rescan, the colour values and shadow detail, as well as overall fine detail is improved quite a bit.
