I haven't given this much thought, but am I the only one who would like to have a neat little #app (#gtk4#libadwaita, please 😜) that lists installed #opensource apps, allows you to add #cloudservices and other apps manually as well, and provides the ability to conveniently make #donations, set reminders, etc. all from one place?
#MomsForLiberty, an anti-#LGBTQ#hategroup, wants you to believe they are a #grassroots organization powered by literally 1 million people. The truth is that grassroots #donations to the group make up about $100k of their total income while just two anonymous #megadonors supplied $2 MILLION. So, don't be fooled by these #bigots. The whole thing is one big exercise in hate and #deception.

If I can raise $200USD for the kids at #CHEO through #ExtraLife (I’m setting the bar awfully low this year, primarily because I haven’t had any time to spend creating content in exchange for donations) by October 31st, then I will stream #Pacify!
If I can raise $500USD by October 31st, I will not only stream Pacify but will also go through my game inventory and find a horror game to stream or even request a key for one (I have my eyes on Slender: The Arrival that comes out on the 28th).
I’m hoping the appeal here will be that I don’t do #HorrorGames or #horror in general very well. Plus I just got an email about a key for #SlenderTheArrival so I will take one for the team if I can pull this off!

@macberg I don't know, but I guess I like to #own things, especially when they're as essential to me as a #daw. I think there is something subconsciously reassuring about "owning" something. Whereas with a #subscription, you could lose the service or product at any time. Of course, I would ultimately prefer Bitwig to be #opensource. Then I could be super calm and express my gratitude with #contributions and #donations. 😇️ But that is probably #utopian (for now).

#Thomas has attended at least two #Koch donor summits, putting him in the extraordinary position of having helped a #political network that has brought multiple #cases before the #SupremeCourt.
The #Koch network brought in at least $700M in 2021, the most recent yr for which data is available. It has >1k employees who, on paper, work for different grps.
But for all its complexity, the network is a centralized operation…. Many of the groups occupy the same bldgs in Arlington, VA, & share leadership & often staff. Many of the #donations go into a central pot, from which hundreds of millions of dollars are disbursed to the smaller groups focused on various #political & #social concerns….
What was that website that American usually use to collect donations for their medical bills and stuff like that? I can't remember. It was very popular for a while...
This is sad. The #activism instance we've shared quality, important moments on is shutting down in early Oct due to no #donations. Years of collaboration soon lost.
