Zrovna se mi to tady v timeline hemží fotkami z té akce od různých #opensource projektů, které podporuji. Například #Codeberg nebo #XMPP. Kdybych se tam mohl teleportovat, tak bych se určitě rozhlédl rád osobně.
BTW #Instagram nemám a odmítám používat, nešly by fotky dát někam jinam? Instagram je komerční zlo. Abyste jen viděly, jak tam není pro registrované co vidět, přikládám screenshot 😕

A question I have for #git#github#codeberg out of curiosity... Say if you want to fork a repo, but the original repo is on a different provider. Maybe it's like GitHub -> GitLab, Codeberg -> GitHub, etc... What is the "correct" way to do it?

It's curious that this attack is targeting the two most important non-corporate software forges.
To whomever has launched a denial of service attack on Codeberg, an independent source code hosting cooperative, congratulations, you win at being a most exemplary douchebag (or douchebags, as the case may be).
Attacking free and open source software is honestly one of the lowest things you can do. People invest their spare time into creating something to help others who are looking for privacy, better tools or simply something that saves them some money because they can't afford paid options. Attacking that makes you the lowest of the low in society.
I once made a hacky bash wrapper script for #riverwm and rivertile(per-tag & cycle-tags). Mainly to see if I could and have it be a backup. I never expected to need it. Did a fresh install on a new to me pc today and a couple things that I use for river are currently unavailable, due to what is happening with #sourcehut and #codeberg.
I have the sources available on another pc, but it's nice to have a script you made, even if hacky, help out in a pinch.
Both #codeberg and #sourcehut are facing massive #ddos attacks. A lot of support to the admins of both platforms ✨❤
Also a reminder that attacking ethical code hosting platforms & nonprofits is literally a horrible thing to do! 😡
It’s crazy that the people targeting #sourcehut are now also targeting #codeberg. It’s either an all out attack against free (as in freedom) software platforms, or simply because they host sourcehut’s status page. Pathetic either way.
Unbelievable that #SourceHut has been under a #DDOS attack since yesterday. Their status page is kindly hosted by #Codeberg who recently posted a message of sympathy to the SourceHut team. Now they too are experiencing a DDOS attack !
What's the need really other than pure hatred ?
