For a brief time this year, Amazon's bestselling "bitter lemon drink" was "Release Energy," which consisted of the harvested urine of Amazon delivery drivers, rebottled for sale by #CatfishUK prankster #OobahButler in a stunt for a new #Channel4 doc, "#TheGreatAmazonHeist":

No-one will be surprised that the UK public have little faith in #political parties, but given the current travails & criminal activity in the #police, its notable how that doesn't seem to have dented whether people trust them as much as one might have expected (although this is last year's data); but I'd be interested to see that data broken down by #gender & by #ethnicity.
When #RishiSunak warns against 'mob rule' its pretty clear who the UK public at large think the mob actually is!
British Police have always used the media to get themselves really good PR, everything from #DixonOfDockGreen to, well, whatever cozy cop bullshit is on this week on #BBC1, #ITV1, #channel4 fly on the wall docu, forty years of #TheBill, and, well you get the point.
Plus the whole, thousand years of the aristocracy breeding the populace to tug the forelock better and be bootlickers.
Hmmm... so the headlines are all about #channel4 laying off staff & looking for smaller #London premises... but actually what seems to be happening is the C4 is laying off London-based staff as it relocates out of the capital, and will then (one might assume) be recruiting staff in new locations.
So actually, this is a story about 'good' jobs becoming available in the regions, but is spun as a 'loss' of jobs because those loosing the jobs are in London.
The year is 1982; #Channel4 launches; Madness’ ‘House of Fun’ is in the charts; ‘Blade Runner’ premieres in cinemas; the first CD player goes on sale; the #Commodore64 is released; Nike launch the Air Force 1 basketball shoe; and you’re wearing your new Space Shuttle Game Watch.
Your mission is to get the shuttle from one side of the screen to the other, landing it on the base, while avoiding planets and space ships. It is made more challenging by the base randomly appearing and disappearing.
Have to say that I find the format of these documentaries uncomfortable. The story could have been told in one not four episodes and the key evidence (identical fingerprints) was not mentioned until well into episode 3, as I recall.
Nicholas Rossi is not the most attractive individual to watch doing a fan-dance; a waste of my time.
Great to see that there's a new series (#5) of #TheDogHouse on #Channel4 in the #UK starting on Thursday the 15th (the day after tomorrow). Not only one of the best #feelgood shows on #tv, it contains #dogs! 🐶
I watched Rhod Gilbert's 'Pain in the neck' documentary, which tells the story of his treatment for throat cancer. A courageous, funny and deeply moving tribute to the Velindre Cancer Centre and the good people of the NHS. Highly recommend! ❤️🩹
#channel4 news gives an overview of the #DoctorsStrikes in the UK nations, yet somehow manages to ignore the fact that there's no strike in #Scotland because #ScottishGovernment sat down and negotiated. Tories won't respect #Doctors just as they don't respect the rest of us #GTTO
"'Am I a R*tard?' paints a sobering picture of what it is like for Rosie Jones as a #disabled#woman in the #PublicEye. The constant #harassment she is subject to
simply for existing *
in the #media is so undeniably violent. For many, social media can be an escape from the viciousness of the outside world. For people like Jones, it seems it’s just another way for bullies to reach them."
The United States and more than a dozen other countries quickly moved to suspend funding to UNRWA, the U.N. agency for Palestinian #refugees, a vital lifeline for millions of people in #Gaza, shortly after Israel accused a handful of the agency’s staff of taking part in the Hamas attack on October 7.
But the U.K. broadcaster #Channel4 obtained the intelligence dossier on #UNRWA that #Israel shared with allied countries, and found “no evidence to support its explosive new claim.”
The Financial Times and Sky News also reviewed the materials and came to the same conclusion : Israel’s claims about UNRWA are just the latest example of what journalist Jeremy Scahill says is a “deliberate propaganda campaign” to justify its brutal assault on Gaza.
“This is one of the most epic frauds in modern history, reminiscent of the lies told to explain and justify the invasion and occupation of Iraq,” says Scahill, senior reporter and correspondent at The Intercept.
This link goes to a thoroughly documented article from journalist #JeremyScahill of The Intercept that demonstrate Israel’s ruthless #Propaganda campaign to dehumanize Palestinians.
