I bet someone thought that selling on the most hated store on the PC realm, without physical copies, sold exclusively for current gen consoles on their exclusive storefronts, would never lead to unprofitability.
Also finally finished #AlanWake2 . Extraordinary game. Truly amazing. Not sure if I like it more than #Control, but Remedy keeps hitting them out of the park.
:ablobcatheadphones: The BBC has this really cool program "The Sound of Gaming" about gaming soundtracks and #VGM expertly presented by Elle Osili-Wood. Every episode is exploring a different topic - Elle’s guest in this week is composer Petri Alanko who talks about his music for #AlanWake2 and the series.

So 2023 has been an incredible year for video games. It saw the full release of Baldur’s Gate 3, which was a literal masterpiece… but my favourite game of the year was #AlanWake2.
I ADORE Alan Wake 2 and Remedy Games. I am a huge fan of them and their games. I love them so much. 🥰
I remember enjoying Alan Wake a lot when I played it many years ago, but I adore #AlanWake2. I love “The New Weird” - a style that Sam Lake has used to describe Control and AW2.
I love the characters, the ties to their previous games, the mind-bending story, and above all, its absolute style and beauty.
Alan Wake 2 is uncompromising in its quest to express itself as a work of art, and I adore it for that. We don’t see this in games these days.
“We Sing” brought tears to my eyes.
Mais quand même : "Spider-Man : Across the Spider-Verse" hein !
There has been a remarkable intersection between video games and musical performance this year, from villains lending vocals to their own theme tunes to interactive songs....
Holy moly, The Old Gods Of Asgard (Poets of the Fall) performed “Herald of Darkness” from the #AlanWake2 game at The Game Awards. Sam Lake (Remedy director, also Alex Casey), Ilkka Villi (Alan Wake), Matthew Poretta (Alan Wake/Casper Darling), David Harewood (Warlin Door) were there, and they did the Alan Wake’s Life musical on stage.
People ask me what has changed after coming to terms with an adult autism diagnosis. And while that is a long and deeply complex series of answers, one thing I can say is that I don't feel as much shame for my hyperfixations.
They said, doing their morning Finnish lesson while listening to Old Gods of Asgard and drinking coffee from an Oh Deer Diner mug.
