Whenever I hear Cohen referred to as Trump's former "fixer" I envision fixer as essentially the guy behind the elephant with the shovel.

Calling your foray into #electricvehicles the "Prologue" seems to transmit to customers they should wait and buy the later Honda "The Story."

I was thinking specifically of the Utils incident when I wrote this weeks column calling for an tax credit for developers.

“A 2024 Harvard study valued [open source software] at $8.8 trillion.

A software project may be initially undertaken by a single developer as a hobbyist project, but … maintenance and security updates require long-term commitments, often by an entire community of developers.”

Thanks for your thoughts! Agreed on pizza and beer point — my secondary argument would be that the stimulus checks during COVID proved it is possible for credits to be refundable and immediately so.

BREAKING: $DJT stock

Price keeps collapsing, now under $25 and still falling.

Stock was at $66.22 only 3 weeks ago.

This appears to be the “dump” part of the pump-and-dump cycle.

Makes sense for a company that LOST over $58 million last year.

Those seem like events separated by an entire epoch, but setting the Titanic sinking at 2024, Lincoln would have been assassinated in 1977.

I call this project, broadly, "why does everything hurt today?"

Cutting up downed trees on the ridge at the cabin and getting them to level ground so we don't have to worry about them rolling on person or dog.

For insights this week I focused on the hazards in poorly drafted policy giving tax credits for carbon capture. We may be prolonging the hydrocarbon economy.

"Think of atmospheric carbon as household debt. We have accrued debt and are spending (or emitting) more than we are earning (or capturing), and our debt is increasing. Carbon capture projects are a bit like picking up a part-time job—we may be slowing our descent into indebtedness, but we aren’t reversing course.”

Sorry to harp, but these kinds of fears boggle.

So the would-be abductor had time to surgically bore into your kid’s shoe to shove an AirTag in there but not just toss the kid in the trunk or whatever?

Why are all these imagined bad actors spending so much time planning their crime to the exclusion of actually committing it?

I would hazard that wherever you had sufficient privacy to perform open sole surgery on the shoe, you had sufficient privacy to abduct. https://esq.social/@andrew/112259993037611859

It's the same thing with the marking of cars in parking lots. The international ring of 40-something stealers is going to great lengths to leave water bottles on the rear view mirrors of Honda Odysseys owned by their targets -- why?

Is it an issue of skillsets? One team is good at picking targets and the other is good at snatching people that have COVID masks hanging from their car antenna?

andrew,
@andrew@esq.social avatar

@billyjoebowers

Yeah gotta keep everyone primed for whatever you say the new threat is. Can’t let them begin to think they’re safe and maybe someone else is at risk.

You are the victim. You are the target.

Archive link to not give Fox News any traffic -- but this has to be the goofiest news piece I have read in a while.

Headline: "Warning for parents after Florida mom finds AirTag in son's sneaker”

Summary of article: Mom freaks out when she finds an AirTag in her kid's sneaker, assumes bodysnatchers or whatever, but nah he just switched sneakers with some other kid in a bouncy castle like a month prior.
