💜 On http://www.ladyteruki.com I've been writing (in ꜰʀ) about television from all over the planet, for over a decade and a half ! I believe in being curious about the world through its TV shows.
Reviews, history, fun facts... so far 6700+ publications have been made available for free, ad-free.

🇮🇷 There are many reasons to lie, some people even do it professionally. Iranian series #Actor (which arte airs tonight under the international title #TheActor, don't ask) is a wonderful exploration of all the reasons we have to lie... and sometimes, just sometimes, to tell the truth.
Happy birthday to the great Peter Cushing, who was born on this day in 1913. I'm sure a lot of my lifelong love of #horror came from late night viewings of many Hammer films with Peter and his good friend Christopher Lee, probably at an age when I was too young for them but didn't care, because I loved them.
🧵 …it is usually only when famous people (see above) complain that it is recognised by the press and passed on. But usually a problem affects people in general.
Thank you @marcel for your tip.
»What Do You Do When A.I. Takes Your Voice?
Two voice actors say an A.I. company created clones of their voices without their permission. Now they’re suing. The company denies it did anything wrong.«

Watched I DON'T KNOW JACK (2002), the low-budget talking-head documentary about character actor/David Lynch mainstay Jack Nance last night, and have some thoughts. What little I knew about the guy was confirmed: he had a rough life and aged far, far beyond his chronological years due to decades of booze and rough, rough living. Cautionary tale + character study. I bought the hard-to-find DVD for $40 and am not likely to rewatch, but it's good to know that I can revisit it when the mood strikes and appropriate circumstances arise. #Actor#DavidLynch#Eraserhead#JackNance#Movies#TwinPeaks
Actors: If you’re an American or have American friends/colleagues and family, encourage them (and I encourage you) to contact your representative and both your senators and tell them your needs in regards to the No Fakes Act: https://www.congress.gov/event/118th-congress/senate-event/335702
It's coming together nicely. Some great performances. We're at the point now where I have a rehearsal just about every night until opening, despite all my other commitments, so please come and reward my perseverance!
Pre-production is underway for our upcoming short, a very modernised adaptation of Ernest Hemingway's "A Pursuit Race," and we're thrilled to be working with the ever-amazing Brittany Gallasch! We can't wait to show you what we have in store ✨
The proper release of #GoToSocialv0.15.0 Shagadelic Sloth has emerged blinking into the sun, fresh from the release candidate process :) One of our funkiest releases ever, since it contains some beautiful new themes you can try out (see screenshots).
To date this year in the United States, 32,500 people have been laid off in the #tech sector. During 2023, 263,000 were laid off, and in 2022 it was 165,000. And these data are only for the U.S. tech sector.
From the #actor POV, it has been fascinating to watch people share their lived layoff experiences, as well as the cycle of job search —> job application —> job interview —> additional job interviews —> no job offer —> repeat, because it’s evident this cycle is not customary for many. 🧵
Actor Louis Gossett Jr., Oscar and Emmy winner, has died at age 87, according to his family.
AP reports: "Gossett broke through on the small screen as Fiddler in the groundbreaking 1977 miniseries 'Roots,' which depicted the atrocities of slavery on TV." He was the first Black man to win the best supporting actor Oscar for "An Officer and a Gentleman."
Coached an actor on a self-tape, and watching them find the character, and hone in on the how and what of them, was really cool. The specifics shined brighter and brighter on each take.
