@RickiTarr believe someone who claims objectivity.
I used to hear the argument all the time that people experiencing something horrible were "too close to be objective". Then I grew up and realised these people were trying to convince me that their lack of experience somehow made them more qualified to speak on it.
Such. Utter. Bullshit.
Marginalized ppl understand oppression better than armchair philosophers ever could. Pretending they don't is a big part of how they stay oppressed.
@RickiTarr@CardboardRobot Leave a dog at doggy daycare over the 4th of July. Years later he still trembles with any fireworks in the distance. Must have been loud and torturous for him there those nights and I feel so guilty about it, especially since he comes to me to protect him from the booms.
@RickiTarr
That thing I will never do again:
Wolf down a banana and chug down a 12-ounce can of 7-Up.
My friend's Catholic youth group took us to an amusement park, and forced us to do that right before riding The Zipper.
I firmly believe this is the origin of the term "Vomit Comet".
Oh, also, no religion after that, ever again. #Secular#Secularism
Oh my - looong List.
Top of it is learning to keep my gob (mouth) shut - ALWAYS gets me into trouble.
Numerous occasions after a bad fall I REALLY should have just spoken my mind then shut the fudgington up.
@RickiTarr (although, you know, saying this, it actually does connect to the bad things in the past, because it's all in my inability to assert myself when things are wrong)
