They don't just shame us—sometimes they could go pretty boldly on the attack just for wearing a mask, because "you're one of those blue-pill assholes that want to let 'them' control us!" and "you are one of those fake-virus propagandists" and so on.
Pair that up with people's desperate desire to return to "business as usual," and... we get this steaming mess.
@hannu_ikonen I recently went back to school to get licensed to do therapy. I start my internship next week and I am terrified because I just know being Novid is likely to end. I did buy a Far UVC lamp to use in my office and I am hoping to god it works as well as they say. I haven’t been told outright that I can’t wear a mask when I see clients but it’s clear that it will be hard to get enough clients for me to fulfill my hours if I do 😩

Can you get an air filtration device as well? There are models that have a fairly decent silent mode. Or if the room is very large, put in two devices so that you can run them on lower speed to create less noise. Just don't use the automatic setting, and don't go for extra features like ionization.

Manufactures at the moment are generally unable to tell consumers how many devices they need to use for a given use case, eg occupancy level or space volume. While standard AHAM AC-5 for decontaminating air cleaners exists no devices appear to have been submitted for testing.
Filtering air cleaners are easier to match to clean air delivery targets
